Hi, we are a couple from the UK who have decided to go backpacking around the world. We want to live in and experience different cultures and meet new people.
This is our first backpacking trip and have started in Brazil and South America and our aim is to explore as much of the continent and each of its countries as possible.

Hi, I'm Joe and I'm from North Yorkshire, England. I am an animal lover (especially cats), and I'm a sucker for adventure. I love a good hike, I have done quite a few in the UK like Scafell Pike and Snowdon but I am needing a bit more of a challenge and some better views. I'm a bit of a car guy too, for me the classic cars are where it's at. I've worked in the Trade retail industry back home for about 5 years and have picked up a lot in that time. I have worked with a range of customers, building rapport with them, and learning the needs of the Trade and DIY'ers. I am more of a practical learner which helps me pick things up quickly, and prefer things that are a little more hands on. I also love to cook and can make a wide variety of meals and would love to learn new recipes. One of the things I want to get out of this trip is to learn Spanish as it is an amazing skill to have knowing more than one language, and would really love being able to immerse myself in South American/ Latin American culture more.

Hi, I'm Jess and I am from the North East of England. I am similar to Joe in that I also love animals (though I prefer dogs), I love a good adventure and a hike but I have a passion for all things History.
I have done a Degree and a Masters in Archaeology and specialise in European Mesolithic Indigenous hunter-gatherer communities and their interactions with the environment. I have taught my speciality to a wide range of people, from young teens to my peers and enthusiasts of the subject. During my studies I worked within the DIY retail industry for 5 years where I met Joe. I became a part of management and gained experience in the DIY industry, working with people in the customer service industry and communicating with a wide range of people. I am committed to keep learning as that's what I love to do, of all tasks big and small, and hope this experience me and Joe are doing provides as many opportunities as possible.

We both really want to learn more spanish and become fluent in it. Jess learnt a bit at school but it has been left too long and we don't want to leave it any longer as we're really eager to learn.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We both used to work in a DIY shop for several years and Joe went on to work at a plumbers merchants so we have picked up quite a bit from DIY'ers and Trades people. We both consider ourselves DIY'ers too. We're both good with technology joe being slightly better. Jess is good at teaching having taught archaeology on several occasions to both children and adults. We've both had management responsibilities at work so can work as a team and prioritize tasks effectively. We're both first aid trained and forklift certified.

Joe has learnt a little bit of guitar but hasn't played for months. Jess wants to learn more card games as shes fed up of gin rummy.
