Hey everyone, my name is Jeanne and I am 18 years old.
Last year I graduated from art school and decided to take a gap year. I made this decision because I felt that I needed a break and wanted to focus on myself and things that make me happy. My dad has always said to me that travelling is the best school there is and now I am ready to explore the world of travelling.
I have some experience with travelling, but I have never travelled on my own. I think it would be great for me and for my personal development to take this step into a new chapter.

After my gap year I will study biology at the university, my plan is to study 3 years of biology and afterwards 2 years of zoology. I have always had an immense love for animals, I want to learn everything about them and in the future I want my job to revolve around them. That's why studying zoology is my dream.

At home I take care of my beautiful dog ( a Swiss shepherd ), cat and two chickens, which I love with all my heart. In my free time I ride horses, play the piano and I am also an avid book reader.

I love being in nature and being in company of animals and I think Workaway is the perfect place for that!

Even though I am pretty young, I have a big sense of responsibility. I work hard and try to do everything as good as possible. I love being busy and having things to do.
I am a calm and thoughtful person and I learn fast.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

As earlier explained I have some travelling experience. For example: I have been in South Africa and Swaziland a couple of times, I also walked along the coast of Normandie during a month last summer. And I have visited a lot of European countries. So I am familiar with most of the things that come with travelling.

I have been riding horses since I was 7, and I do have a lot of experience taking care of horses, cleaning the stables etc. It is my dream to have a horse of my own one day. I would like to find a Workaway that involves taking care of horses.

Since I was a kid I have always been crazy about cats and dogs, I always wanted to be around them and spend time with them. Now I have my own beautiful cat and dog, with whom I spend a lot of time with. I love going for a walk in the forest or in the fields with my dog, or spending quality time with my cat.

Because of these experiences I am good in reading animals their body language and signs, and knowing how to react and behave around them. That's why I think that I would be a suitable person to work with and around animals.

Currently I am working in a restaurant in Brussels to earn a bit of savings for my travels. Because of this job I know how to deal with stress and a lot of things at the same time. I also learned how to work in a team, where everyone has their own responsibilities, and taking initiative.

The past years I went to an art school, where I learned to think in different ways and express myself in my art. At art school I didn't only get to learn about art but I also got to develop myself in a beautiful and free way.
I have always been a very creative person that loves to use her hands to express herself.
I think this may also come in handy in some art and creative projects on Workaway!

Was noch ...

I love reading books and I have a big interest in literature, philosophy,... I see books as a huge learning source, which can teach me more about the world and mankind. Currently I am delving in Russian literature, for exemple Tolstoy, Dostojevski, Poesjkin,...
I would love to have conversations about these subjects and share our knowledge!
