This June I will be quitting my job and taking a year off to backpack around the world! My first stop on this amazing journey is Costa Rica! I am not sure where my travels will take me after that! Most likely I will backpack around South America and make my way towards South East Asia. I am beyond excited to finally start travelling and discovering the amazing and unique cultures that exist in every community! I have always considered myself an explorer at heart and have always had a big sense of adventure.

I love meeting new people and exploring new places! I consider myself very social and outgoing. I have been working in the field of education for the past seven years. Two years ago I graduated with my Masters in Counseling and have been a School Counselor in South Carolina since. It has been a challenging and rewarding job. I enjoy being a positive role model and trying to make a difference in my students lives.

In my spare time I enjoy hiking and being outdoors. I am frequently reading about travel because it inspires and fascinates me. Music and the arts have always been a big part of my life. I believe that creativity and self expression are very important in life. I greatly enjoy building relationships with new people and hearing their life story and words of wisdom.

I believe that I am a very kind and compassionate person that always puts others before myself. I am always their to lend a helping hand when someone needs it. I am a very fast learner and easily adapt to a new environment. My goal is to live a life full of meaningful relationships and memorable experiences.

I love solo travel, but I am hoping to find a travel buddy to join me for part of my journey. Can't wait to meet you! :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have a lot of customer service experience. I've been working in restaurants since I was 16 years old. I have both front and back of the house experience. Hosting, serving, prepping food, cleaning tables, I've done it all. I feel that good customer service skills are all about having a positive attitude and outgoing nature. Being polite, respectful, and accommodating are all essential traits necessary to have good customer service.

My other experience is working with Children. As noted above in my profile, I am a special needs teacher. My strongest areas of subjects that I could help teach are English, Writing, and History. I also spend a great deal of time teaching my students about social and life skills. I organize activities and lesson plans on a daily basis. In addition I have also worked at several summer camps with both young and older kids.

I am happy to help with any tasks you have available! Even though my experience is in education and hospitality I have no problem helping out with any farm, gardening, or maintenance work!

I am an extremely hard worker. I always put in my best effort and am a very fast learner. I understand that this is called WORK away and I can guarantee you that if you host me you will be hosting someone who is ready to work. I value the concept of strong work ethic.
