Hello !! My name is Janie and I am a 22 year old female from Australia who wants to travel, work/ volunteer and meet new and interesting people from around the world. I am open to new experiences and love the outdoors ! I am a happy bubbly person always keen to help out or go an a little adventure :))

I have a Bachelors Degree in Coastal and Marine Science and have a passion for sustainability and all things enviro friendly!

I love meeting new people and making new connections that will last for life, I enjoy music, getting out and about and love a bit of spontaneity !!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have grown up on a farm my whole life, this included manual labour both with and without livestock (fencing, driving machinery, cattle/ sheep work etc.). I have always been surrounded by an array of animals like dogs, cats, horses, sheep and cattle.
I worked in Ireland at a dairy farm in 2020, this is quite labour intensive (lifting heavy feed/ milk bags, spreading silage bales multiple times a week). I also worked with an elderly couple as they lost their carers during Covid-19 so my responsibilities were house work (cooking and cleaning) as well as garden maintenance (mowing lawns, upkeep of garden beds etc.).
I attended university in 2021-2024 where I studied Coastal and Marine Science full time while working hospitality jobs as a waitress/ barista. During the last two years of my studies I also took up house and pet sitting which I have enjoyed very much !
During my university degree we had the opportunity to go to Fiji and experience a cultural immersion program for two weeks. We lived in a Fijian village for a week with a host family. We were exposed to the changes Pacific Islander people were facing due to climate change, this was extremely eye opening.
Another opportunity we had with my degree was to undertake an independent group research study at Norfolk island where my group chose to assess which coral species were more susceptible to algae growth. This entailed spending hours in the water diving and collecting data for a week before presenting it to our class, lecturers and local people from the Island.
I would say that I am physically fit and healthy and definitely up for a challenge if need be !!

Was noch ...

I like to be creative so I try to paint and draw in my spare time. I would love to learn an instrument one day ! I have started indoor bouldering about a year ago and love it, I think it is an awesome way to meet people as well as a fun way to exercise!
