Beschreibung

We're Jade and Hannah, two friends from England embarking on a new adventure travelling around Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. We are both recent graduates from the University of Reading where we studied Environmental Management together.

We have both worked in a variety of different industries and therefore have a broad skillset between us. I (Jade) previously worked as a bank teller alongside running my own business selling vintage women’s clothing, shoes and handbags which I set up while I was at school. I also have several years of experience in retail, hospitality and housekeeping as well as spending time as an estate agent and even have experience in the British Army. Hannah previously worked as the project coordinator for a social action mentoring programme managing 15 pairs of mentors and student mentees as well as running an Etsy shop selling her artwork so would be eager to engage in art projects. Previously Hannah worked within the retail and hospitality industries in fast-paced environments.

During our previous volunteering experience on a smallholding in Carmarthenshire, Wales we particularly enjoyed meeting new people and getting a glimpse into a different way of living and hope to experience more of that during our time in Australia. Hannah also volunteered in New Zealand and Thailand on sustainability projects and animal sanctuaries whilst travelling solo and has recently spent 6 weeks volunteering in Calais with refugee charities.

We are both very active and enjoy several different sports and hobbies such as hiking, climbing, running and yoga. Hannah is the creative one out of the two of us and often spends her free time drawing and painting. I prefer reading as I enjoy learning new things, having set myself a target of reading 50 books this year and I also enjoy cooking, often trying out new recipes. I would love to share recipes with you and learn how to create your favourite meals or regional dishes.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Us:
- We were both on the Zero Waste Society committee 2020/21, Hannah was the secretary and Jade was the treasurer which shows our passion for zero waste living.
- We are both keen volunteers at the Gardening society and are eager to learn more about permaculture/eco-farming.
- We both live away from home so we clean and cook for ourselves and would be happy to help out with these tasks, we both follow a vegetarian diet.
- Both big animal lovers (hence our profile pictures!)
- We could help out with social media management and taking photos.
- We are both into fitness and workout 3-5 times a week so although we are small we are fit, healthy and strong and can help out with manual labour work, gardening and similar sorts of jobs.

Hannah:
- I am also a member of the Reading Marrow society (bone marrow) and often volunteer to raise money for the Anthony Nolan charity.
- I have experience helping out at a toddler group and have 3 siblings so I have lots of experience working with children.
- My family home has 4 dogs and 13 cats so I have a lot of experience looking after pets. We’ve also had rabbits in the past.

Jade:
- I run my own sustainable business selling second hand and vintage clothing, specialising in women's jeans.
- I volunteered at my Artistic Roller Skating club for a year coaching a class of roughly 20 students aged 5-45 so I have experience working with children.
- I'm a big lover of houseplants (particularly succulents) so I can lend a hand if you're having trouble keeping yours alive :)
- I have volunteered at a country park in the UK so have experience in conservation.

Was noch ...

We love being outside and spending time in nature, going on walks, climbing, learning about different cultures and history, playing pool, reading, exploring and being around animals :)
