Hi! I'm Jacob. I spend most of the time I'm not with my friends or family reading, writing, exercising, & meditating. I also love to hike, travel, and meet people. Relationships, mental health, and hard work are what I think life is all about. I'm beginning to learn Spanish, and hoping to get some practice while volunteering. I'd also like to experience ways of socializing, managing time, and priorities different from the American ones I've grown up with.
My partner, Carmen, and I, have been seeing each other for almost a year and are now looking to live together. She was born & raised in Spain, and is now home after a year of Au Pair exchange. I've been volunteering alone for October, cooking and cleaning at a yoga lodge in Sayalonga, Spain; we're now hoping to find a place where we can volunteer & live together for November.

I have always been interested in languages; English was my best subject in high school, and though I completed my degree in Chemistry I read and write for a few hours most day. I'd be happy to help you learn English. I have been learning Spanish for only a few months now but I'm enjoying the process quite a lot and hoping to continue. Hopefully I'll achieve fluency one day so I can live in a Latin American country; this skill is also useful for social work in California.

Was könntest du arbeiten?
Jacob: I have worked in a number of restaurants, cooking, preparing ingredients, & serving customers, and have cooked a lot on my own. I'm good at making nutritious, tasty, and visually appealing meals for large amounts of people. In these jobs I've also been responsible for cleaning kitchens & dining rooms.
Carmen: Carmen will receive her degree in business administration this December, and has spent a year doing finances for a Spanish NGO. She is a fantastic cook, has worked with children for many years, and is the most organized person you'll ever meet.
Both of us are hard-working, eager to learn, and good at providing friendly service to guests.
