We have both just graduated from University! I (Jacob) studied Chemistry, and Becca studied English Literature. Although we have learnt from our degrees, we want to continue educating ourselves, through the world around us, the people we will encounter and the experiences this will permit.
Music is a huge motivator for both of us. Experiencing different cultures through the music they make and how this is made accessible from anywhere. I am a huge fan of African and South American music, as the authentic sounds aren't often used in westernised music. My collection of records proves my love for this music in all its authenticity, now counting to over 500 records on my shelves! I also play guitar and will happily play if you have one accessible!
Becca loves to travel and meet new people. Books and Literature allow insight into perspectives beyond her own, but where fiction is not real, travel makes this encounter of perspectives reality. She has been to Prague, Copenhagen and Rhodes this year whilst studying, and wants to see more as soon as possible. She likes to be practical and creative, practising photography (Digital and Film), painting, clay-crafts and writing in her spare time, as well as attempting to play guitar! She is a huge cinephile, spending her spare time watching any films recommended to her.
We want to experience the world together and look forward to hearing from hosts who would like to supply such an opportunity :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We are both sociable people, thriving on social interaction and learning about what others have to teach us.
We are both curious and inquisitive of the world around us- especially of what other cultures outside of the UK have to offer. Music, cuisine, history, literature, film... We want to not just learn of the world around us, but live it.
Music is my hobby and skill I would happily show those willing to watch.
We are both mothertongue English - thus can offer language exchange if desired.
We are happily to supply labour in farmstay or construction projects.
We both heavily advocate equal rights, thus, social movement projects for the progression for minorities would be of interest, to make good change for the world and supply those who need it with the kindness and compassion they deserve.
Becca spent the past year volunteering for Refugee Council in York, teaching conversational english on a weekly basis to refugees who needed language proficiency in order to attain employment. Social justice is of utmost importance to her, with gender equality, climate justice, racial equality and poverty issues being a fight she prioritises in life. Passion for human rights is a shared ability of ours, which we would love to use while volunteering.

Was noch ...

Becca has spent her time at university employed as a photographer, encapsulating her peers student life to look back onto. She also made a short film which won awards in the student gallery, and would love to end up back in the film and media industry after travelling. She used her literature degree and love of film to write reviews and articles for various film and TV magazines at uni, to write on what she is most passionate about. She has a bucket list of things to do before she dies, and travelling to every country in the world is at the top of the list.
I am a big swimmer, completing yearly endurance swims for charity. I swim as often as I can, and would love to swim nicer waters than the UK :)
Maths and science has always been a keen interest of mine and meeting others with the same interest could help with ways of scientific thinking I had never thought of before.
Finally, Becca and I were drawn to each other through our kindred love of music- so being able to uncover a world of music would mean a lot to us- if you are a fellow music lover !
