Hi! I’m Isabelle, a photographer and sculptor living in New York. Even though I live in the city now, I grew up in the Midwest and have always enjoyed being outdoors and working with my hands. My parents had a large backyard garden growing up, and I remember spending many summer afternoons building trellises, repairing fencing, and picking produce.

I started sculpting as a teenager and grew my art into a sustainable income in college. I’m still sculpting now, while also pursuing editorial and commercial photography in New York. My work week is a balance between working on sets and sculpting in my studio.

I recently found out about Workaway and knew I had to sign up. I enjoy traveling but have never had much of an interest in hopping between tourist attractions. I like settling into a routine and getting a taste of what life is like in the places I visit.

In the past, I have worked as a summer counselor at a sleepaway camp, volunteered at a horse rescue, volunteered at a sustainable agriculture project in Muang Kong, Thailand, and lived and trained at a Muay Thai camp in Khao Lak, Thailand. Excited for the next adventure!

Was noch ...

I have a big passion for people—it's one of the reasons I started taking portraits. I am always surprised by the people I meet and the stories I hear when I travel. That being said, I consider myself an extroverted introvert. I can get along with just about anyone, but enjoy my alone time just as much.

I also love being active and trying new activities. I spend a lot of my free time hiking, boxing, and training Muay Thai. I also boulder every once in a while (poorly) and recently started pole dancing. Am always open to trying new sports and making a bit of an idiot of myself. :)
