I'm a fresh college grad looking to experience and connect with a variety of different people and places while in this daunting but exciting new stage of my life. I'm from the Pacific Northwest in the United States (near Seattle, WA!) so I grew up in a community that really cherishes and interacts with its natural surroundings. Needless to say, I'm no stranger to camping, hiking, etc. and getting some dirt between my toes :) at university I majored in International Relations and minored in Spanish, so my primary personal goals right now is improving my Spanish language skills and my understanding and appreciation of the many cultures and communities who speak it. I am new to the Workaway platform, but have participated in farm stays and volunteered before.

I studied Spanish in university and have used it daily while working as a waitress, this has encouraged me to develop my skills further and seek out immersion opportunities. I also realize I am quite privileged to have English as my native language: a language that opens the door to many opportunities and is used greatly outside of the anglosphere. I am willing and eager to help those wishing to learn English.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I've had many jobs, internships, and experiences... I've waitressed, managed a coffee shop, I have experience in agriculture, wrote for a magazine publication, co-produced a documentary on the US child welfare system, coordinated a city wide arts festival, worked at an animal shelter, volunteered weekly at the local women's shelter, worked security for a music venue... to name a few. All that is to say I have experience with a variety of different people, places, and situations. Additionally, English is my native language and I am willing and eager to help those who wish to learn it.

Was noch ...

I am an avid reader of both fiction and non fiction (I just started One Hundred Years of Solitude) and am constantly looking to learn and acquire new knowledge and understanding. I can play the guitar and I enjoy going on runs and walks in nature. One fun fact about me that is sure to come up is that I cannot smell: no worries, nothing is wrong! I have never had a sense smell and it has never bothered me.
