Hello👋 I'm Hanaka, a 23 y.o. girl from Japan and a soon-to-be graduate (in May 2023!) from the world's No.1 most innovative university - Minerva University. For the past 4 years, I've lived and studied in 6 countries (U.S., South Korea, India, Germany, Argentina, and Taiwan), while studying my major which is Computer Science. I grew up in a family of 6, with 3 younger brothers (the youngest is 10 years younger than me), which is pretty rare in Japan! Because I grew up with a lot of family members, I love people and children in general and especially taking care of others through cleaning, cooking, teaching, etc.

I attended an international school in Tokyo since I was 8 y.o. so I can communicate in English fluently, along with my mother-tongue Japanese, and I'm recently learning Korean which I'm still a beginner at. I love playing soccer, practicing aerial yoga, and doing any sort of outdoor activities with family & friends (hiking, biking, camping, etc.). Professional interest-wise, I'm an aspiring Product Manager and am currently looking for a job in the U.S. so that I can utilize my 3-year STEM OPT.

I was introduced to Workaway by some of my university friends who had an amazing time with the opportunities they found so I wanted to give it a try!

Here are some of the skills that I can offer:
・Tech-related/Programming
Since my major is Computer Science, I can design, build, and manage simple websites/technical products. I can also analyze datasets and create marketing strategies. My tech stacks are Python, HTML/CSS, R, and SQL - but am open to learning more!
・Teaching
I have 2+ years of experience in tutoring coding & English to children from 6 to 18 y.o. (both group context and 1:1). Specifically, I taught Python, Scratch, English Proficiency Tests, and SAT/TOEFL preparation.
・Video editing
I've made a couple of vlogs in the past and am comfortable using Final Cut Pro.
・Cleaning
I consider myself a clean person and my past roommates agree too! I love cleaning for others.
・Cooking
I usually cook for my family whenever I'm back home and am most familiar with cooking Japanese cuisine.
・Others
I'm always eager to learn new skills! I'm generally a fast and self-sufficient learner :)
