Beschreibung

Latest: I'm heading for South East Asia December 2022 to stay a month or maybe more! Currently I am working outside Zurich for a lovely couple. I'm looking for a long term (month plus) place to spend from January onward and potentially a short term stay for the interim period Nov 20-Dec 15.

I grew up New England in the US, which is still technically my home, although I can't really call it home since I plan to mostly live on the road traveling or studying! My goal with Work Away is to experience many different cultures and gain experience and skills.

Despite only traveling for a few months I've come to learn that, there is more than one way to live and be successful. Shortly after leaving home the novelty of traveling for the sake of it wore off and I have realized I want to experience something more productive.

My plan is volunteer in a variety of fields while perhaps in Southeast Asia and elsewhere, to garner a deeper connection to the places I am visiting rather than just being a tourist passing by. Then, starting in a few months I will take some classes online if I do further my education.

I ran my own handyman/landscaper business for the past three summers which along with home renovation has given me the opportunity to practice the following:

-I have knowledge in wood work, concrete jobs, basic constructional design, scaffolding, painting, landscaping/gardening, fencing, carpentry.
- Experienced with most power tools
- Very good with animals
- Familiar with working on farms/forest
- Worked in the tourist sector (guide)
- Basic sailing knowledge
- Carpenter skills
- Physically very fit/ able to do hard labor
-Basic plumbing/electrical skills

I have practice driving motorbikes, ATV (Quad), tractors, and snowmobiles.

Was noch ...

I know WorkAway is a way for many people to save money or extend their travels, which is definitely a bonus to me but not the priority. My main goal, however, is experiences and friendships! I hope to make a local connection and leave my mark everywhere I visit.

So if we work together, I hope we can make real friendships and learn from each other, more than just a job!

I am eager to have new experiences and learn about local culture and cuisine.
