Hi! I am a high school science teacher who loves to spend time outside, whether it be reading under a tree, growing plants, biking, hiking, or scuba diving. I am off for 2 months during the summer, and looking to workaway somewhere cooler than Texas in the summer, so i can spend time outside without melting.

I love to travel and see the world from different perspectives. It's fun to be somewhere new, where going to the grocery store becomes an adventure in what new things you see, and walking down the street feels different.

I love learning new words and how languages work. I would like to improve my Spanish, or to explore and adjacent language like Portuguese, French, or Italian. I have taught English to non-native speakers before, and having learned other languages myself, I am patient in the process.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I am a high school science teacher, but I have worked with students ranging in age from 4 to adult. I have taught ESL classes to adults. I like making things understandable for my students.

I have been gardening since I was old enough for my Mom to send out to the garden to pick beans. I actually enjoy weeding - it's my zen to spend time outside feeling like I'm making something better.

I have worked and volunteered with dogs at different times in my life. I get along pretty well with most animals, and am not scared of them. (Although I do give sharks and snakes a healthy distance).

I am a decent cook, although I have never done this for a living. I enjoy cooking when I have the time and energy to do it....I have made Indian, Ethiopian, Thai, Mexican, and Chinese dishes, but I can also make a pretty salad.

I speak English and Spanish....my Spanish is probably at about a 5th grade level, although I get better the longer I spend talking.

Was noch ...

Hmmm.....I enjoy word games like scrabble, although I am still learning to be strategic. I am bad at video games, but like goofy board games that make everyone end up laughing. I can be quiet when I get tired, but it doesn't mean that I am not still having fun. I learned how to scuba dive about 5 years ago, and always enjoy spending time underwater. I read a lot - although these days it's more audio books than paper books. I like having new experiences....I read the quote that "you regret things things you didn't do, not the things you did." and it resonated.
