Best friends since the age of 5, we are extremely excited to travel the world together before starting university back in the UK next year. We love meeting new people, experiencing new things and are always up for a challenge. We are naturally inquisitive people and are passionate about environmental causes, animal rights and helping others, with Chiara set to study medicine and Tamar psychology and philosophy, after our travels. Tamar's adventurous carefree nature and Chiara's enthusiasm and outgoing personality, make us a great team. We consider ourselves very outdoorsy people, adore being surrounded by nature and don’t mind getting our hands dirty. Some of our hobbies that we love to do together are walking/hiking, swimming and yoga.
Chiara has had previous experience volunteering in Tanzania, where she worked in a orphanage, playing with the kids, helping at mealtimes, teaching English and other daily activities. She adores working with children and has further experience from coaching gymnastics and tutoring. Tamar has also volunteered in Africa, where she worked on a construction project in Ghana building new classrooms. She is fun, easygoing and these attributes have come into use during her time as a leader at her local youth club. We are both very passionate about making a positive impact, and the volunteer work we've done in the past has taught us the value of patience, compassion and dedication.
We decided to gap year together because we share a strong desire to experience more of the world and broaden our understanding of different cultures. We are open-minded, hardworking, and can't wait to meet new people and try new things. We believe Workaway is a unique opportunity to achieve this and are super excited to start our travel journey together :)

We are now in are summer after our first year of university and are hoping to continue our travels.We had such amazing experiences using workaway during our gap year and are hoping to explore ourselves and the world further through work away.
