Beschreibung

My name is Emily and I'm 28 years old. My current long-term goal is to move aboard to teach English, and I would love to gain some experience living abroad as a volunteer or Au Pair beforehand.
In 2021, I undertook a degree in Anthropology but sadly did not complete it. I am now pursuing a degree in Creative Writing. Writing is my passion and I hope to become a published author.
I love children of all ages and have informal experience as a babysitter. I also have experience volunteering with the organisation foodcycle (which serves cooked meals to vulnerable homeless people in the community) as well as with animals (mostly primates, big cats and reptiles) at an exotic pet rescue centre called the 'exotic pet refuge'.
I am currently teaching myself Korean (I'm still very much a beginner!), because Korean culture has interested me for a long time and I would love to teach over there one day.
My main hobbies are embroidery and I also love veil poi spinning (which is a performance art using veils to create beautiful patterns in the air).

Was noch ...

As mentioned before, I love embroidery and veil poi. Veil poi is almost like dance, and it's a very popular 'flow art' that really helps general wellbeing. I'm self taught (I learned poi at an eco event a couple of years ago) and practise it daily.
I also love writing and am pursuing getting my novel (which is fiction) published within the next year (fingers crossed!).
I've had an interest in South Korea since being a child, because of the first burst of the hallyu wave that happened here in the UK in around 2009. I was a huge fan of second generation kpop artists (like Girls' Generation and SHINee) and that was a gateway into becoming very interested in Korean (and East Asian) culture more generally.
