A little about Laura ...
Originally from the UK, Laura moved to Australia after university for what was planned to be a 'year abroad'. Nearly a decade later, Laura has embraced the Australian way of life and is now a proud citizen. Throughout these years, she has built a fulfilling career in business and marketing, gaining experience across various sectors, including Arts & Entertainment, Tourism, and initiatives focused on positive change for the Environment and Communities. Today she is a Marketing Director within a creative agency.

A little about Ed ...
An interesting start in life, Ed spent his early childhood living in Japan and Hong Kong, before re-locating back to Sydney, Australia with his family. Ed has dedicated his adult life to the Australian Defence Force, currently holding the rank of Major. With extensive experience living and working abroad, Ed is skilled in working and living alongside different cultures, and is fluent in both English and Malaysian, as well as basic Italian and French.

Together we are looking for Workaway placements in 2025/2026, with our motivation driven by a seeking new challenges, the opportunity to see the world together, and the chance to connect with new cultures. We are particularly passionate about marine and animal conservation placements.

As a marketer with over a decade of experience working in the UK and Australia, Laura can provide a breadth of marketing skills, including campaign work, social media, digital marketing, content creation, and brand development. Also skilled in managing teams, Laura has the ability to work collaboratively with people and lead teams should the opportunity arise.

Laura also holds a Certificate in Sustainable Business Strategy from Harvard Business School (Online) and has worked on marketing campaigns for positive change across various sectors, including Government, Local Councils, NGO's and Private Businesses.

Edward's skills ...
As a serving Australian Defence Force member, Ed has a breadth of skills including people management, operations and risk management. He is also very skilled in languages and can converse with people in English, Italian, Malay and French. He also holds a Bachelor of Business from University of New South Wales.
