Beschreibung

Hi my name is Echo. I'm an adventurous, outdoosy, sporty, 51% extrovert nature-lover who was born and raised up in China (a small town close to Shanghai) and moved to united states 14 years ago. I worked in one of the big tech for 8 years and quit my job in early 2023 during the big wave of layoffs. Currently enjoying my gap year traveling around the world, at same time focusing on inward exploration and self-reflection by doing meditation, life coaching, reading and writing. During the time, I did my first solo backpacking trip (camino de santiage), enjoyed less-costy accommodations such as hostels, fascinated by couchsurfing culture and people, who introduced me workaway to find volunteer opportunities.

I've always been interested in doing more volunteers, as I had only one experience in China teaching unattended kids in a rural remote mountain area. I'm open and flexible with all sorts of activities such as farming, planting, helping with animals, teaching english/chinese/maths/sports, even lifting work as I'm fit and strong. I'm not very experiences in any of these but I'm very eager to learn and good at learning new things. Looking forward to exploring another new world!

I'm fluent at Chinese (Manderin) and English, learning French, Spanish, Portuguese. I can definitely teach Chinese and English.

I'm an engineer worked on social platforms. So I can def do all the basic and intermediate computer stuff. Can help with online communications, customer support, managing and advertising for social/business account and marketing but not my expertise.

I love sports and am good at basketball, rock-climbing, snowboarding. I can def teach those if condition permits.

I'm a dog-lover and have a 2y old border collie. I can help with animals and especially good with dogs.

Was noch ...

I'm recently very into meditation and running, but I'm not super goal driven on these just trying to enjoy more. It would be great to do those together with folks while volunteering.

Also trying to actively learn and practice video editing for vlogs and documentaries. Again not something I'm very aggressively goaling at but slowly making progress.
