Hello! My name is Christy and I'm American, from the Washington, D.C. area but I live now in New York City. I am a professional actor/singer/dancer in the musical theatre industry and I also work as a teaching artist.

I love to sing more than anything! I majored in musical theatre in university and have been singing my whole life. I've performed professionally in several theme park shows, original musicals, and toured a children's musical all over the United States. When I'm not singing, you can find me reading, cooking, baking, and adding places to my travel bucket list!

My current read is "Brideshead Revisited" by Evelyn Waugh. My culinary claim to fame is that I can make an incredible American chocolate chip cookie.

I love to eat and learn about a place's culture by trying all kinds of food wherever I go. Give me a "hole in the wall" with fantastic food any day over fancy dining! I want to eat what the locals are eating. As much as I love to eat, I really enjoy cooking and experimenting in the kitchen. Cooking for my friends and family is how I show them love. I am very interested in learning how to cook dishes from many cultures. The best part of a cultural exchange is sharing our recipes with each other!

When I travel I like to immerse myself in the real place that I am visiting. I love to connect with people and learn about different ways of living. Resort vacations are not for me. My favorite part of any trip is simply walking around, exploring, and taking in the beautiful architecture of a city or town.

In the autumns of 2021, 2022, and 2023 I solo traveled in Europe, for about 6-7 weeks each time. I have traveled to Athens, Paros (Greece), all over Italy, Paris (France), London (UK), Budapest (Hungary), Vienna (Austria), Prague (The Czech Republic), and Krakow (Poland). Each solo trip/hosted stay has been a truly life changing experience. While staying with Italian hosts through workaway, I helped with teaching English lessons, gardening, picking olives, cooking, and cleaning. l also learned some Italian and got to experience such a beautiful cultural exchange and make the most wonderful friends. I hope to continue traveling and learning about many different ways of life.

My most recent trip was to San Juan, on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico! In the future, I'd like to travel to New Orleans (USA), Colombia, Spain, Portugal and Iceland.

I have a degree in Musical Theatre performance and work as a professional actor, singer, and dancer. I am an experienced teaching artist and am happy to teach children singing and acting skills.

English is my first language. I studied Spanish in high school and college and though I would still only consider myself proficient at basic levels of Spanish, I spend at least five minutes a day on a language learning app. I want to keep improving my Spanish so that I am more conversational someday!

I am skilled at cooking and baking and enjoy making meals for a family/group. I am more than happy to help out with meals in the kitchen in any capacity. Garlic and lemon are my favorite ways to take a dish to the next level. I'm not a vegetarian but I do enjoy cooking with a lot of vegetables and experimenting with tofu. My specialties currently include many pasta dishes and an incredible American chocolate chip cookie! I’m happy to share some iconic American dishes as a cultural exchange!

I am naturally very clean and organized and will enthusiastically help maintain a household by doing chores and cleaning bathrooms, bedrooms, and kitchens.

As an animal lover, I am very comfortable around dogs and cats. I would love to walk dogs, feed, or help out with the pets in any way. I am responsible and take the care of animals very seriously. My family's dog isn't just a pet, he's part of the family. So I understand the importance of showing love and care to your animals.

I have some experience with painting and sanding. I would love to learn about gardening! I am a hard worker and quick learner though and eager to help out in any way that I can.

One of my favorite movies of all time is Mamma Mia starring Meryl Streep. Abba's music gives me instant seratonin and Meryl Streep's acting is just fantastic!

So far, my favorite place that I've traveled to is Inverness, Scotland. The view of the River Ness standing up on the hill by Inverness Castle is breathtaking. I want to go back and see more of Scotland someday!

I love music and really enjoy listening to a diverse array of artists. The older I get, the more I seem to love every genre of music. Particularly, I am into 70s rock, R&B, pop and some country. Some of my favorites include David Bowie, JoJo, Fleetwood Mac, and Beyonce. I'm always up for learning about new artists!
