I am based in Vestfold, Norway, and would like to get to know other farms and local gardening or sustainability initiatives around here. I have lived on a farm for the first four years of my time here
Beschreibung
I am a German lady with endless curiosity about the world who loves travelling, meeting new people and discovering new places.
When I go to a country either for a vacation or to live there, I am interested in getting to know the culture, meeting locals and not just hanging out with other tourists/foreigners. So far, I have lived in Canada, Uruguay, Chile, Sweden and Norway for longer (from 5 months to 6 years and still going) and am impressed by the stunning beauty of the countries and the things living abroad taught me.
I am a nature lover, I am from a rural area in Germany, so woods, rivers, forests and creeks are everything to me. I love to be close to mountains or the seaside and can spend hours walking or cycling through the nature.
I also like being on my own and thinking about life, as well as conversations which go beyond superficial issues and talking about things that really matter. In my opinion, every person has a story to tell, so it is worth it listening to everybody, that's how I learned important things, be it in my own country or abroad.
In my spare time, if I'm not travelling, I like reading books, going for walks or jogs, cycling, doing yoga, listening to and playing music (I play the flute and currently I teach myself how to play the guitar) and doing creative stuff like crochet, and writing.

Was könntest du arbeiten?
First of all, I do not mind physical/hard work! I have been working on a farm and garden for almost a year when living in a community in Norway, and really enjoyed it. In addition, I work as an Early Childhood Educator for my main job, which also involves heavy lifting at times. I used to work in health and care as well.
Background:
- Some academic background (quite varied, I am a member of the multipotentialites group: business administration, sustainability science, Early Childhood Education).
Special skills:
- I have worked in a guest house in Canada for 5 months (front desk, guest service and housekeeping), so I am experienced in working with tourists.
- I have worked in offices for more than 2 years, so I have computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Paint, Outlook).
- Big passion and special skill: Working with people with special needs, 6 years experience so far.
- During my year in Chile, I taught German to university students.
- Experience with children and youth: I have been working in a high school in Germany for five years during semester breaks, helping children aged 10-12 with their homework and doing spare time activities with them. During the summer, I've worked with international youth (14-17) organizing spare time activities for them. In Sweden, I'm involved in coordinating and volunteering in a gardening project, working with children aged 5-10. Now I work as an Early Childhood Educator with some work experience from kindergardens.
- Basic gardening skills (I worked for one season in a vegetable and flower garden before I was needed other places. Later on, I got around 2 months in the herb workshop as well. I help out in a CSA as well during the season.)
- Basic farm skills (worked at a farm in a community for half a year, have experience with woodwork, feeding animals, cleaning, cutting sheep wool)
- I like cooking and have done it regularly for 10-12 people during my stay in the community.
- I learned horse riding when I was younger and used to work with sheep, cows, pigs and hens at the farm where I was working. I love animals!
