I'm looking to enjoy some hiking, jungle experiences, new food and cultural experiences. I love meeting new people, having good chats and having an open mind to new experiences!

I'm passionate about working with others, learning about different cultures, being in nature and keeping fit. I'm looking to meet individuals from different walks of life, spend time in nature and contribute to a community in some way. Ultimately I'm a people person and looking forward to continuously learning!

I am a secondary school (age 11-18) English teacher by trade and have worked in the education profession for 15 years now, in the UK and abroad at an international school and in volunteering projects, specifically collaborating with teachers in countries where teacher training is limited. I believe in empowering people through the power of language but also in developing confidence in themselves . I am also a yoga instructor and enjoy keeping fit, believing in the importance of consistent movement and grounding.

I'm interested in learning language as I am travelling. I think it's important to engage with communities in their local languages where possible. Not only this, but languages are a part of culture and help travellers to understand more about this culture and expression; it's something I am always curious about!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have excellent communication, team working and leadership skills. As an English teacher of 15 years, these are skills that I have cultivated, and I have worked in leadership since 2018, now an assistant headteacher in charge of the post-16 provision. I work with students age 11-18, a large staff body and parents/carers on a daily basis. I think a key part of a leader is absolutely still being a team player and drawing on strengths of those around you; we constantly learn together, so this is something that translates into my personal relationships too where I value those around me.

I am a people person and like to bring people together or just to work with others, and I have a curious mind. I have excellent literacy skills and I can offer some language lessons, skills or proofreading / development of materials. I am also a yoga instructor and keen on fitness, having taught online and in-person, so I can definitely offer some fitness/wellness sessions too! I am very organised and can help with logistics, schedules and time management if required. I enjoy being outdoors and I'm not afraid to get my hands dirt with gardening either, my experience of this just being my own garden and helping friends and family with theirs.

Overall, I am enthusiastic and willing to give most things a go! I like new experiences and learning, so I'm willing to get 'stuck in' as well as share my own knowledge and expertise if appropriate.
