Beschreibung

My name is Bart, I'm 28 and from Poland. I work in humanitarian aid, creating tech that helps doctors and farmers in the Global South (mainly Africa).

I heard somewhere that you should try as many new things as possible before turning 30, so that's what I'm trying to do right now. Even though I work in tech, I think I have an artistic soul. I come from a musical family – I play guitar and recently started piano. One of my dreams is to jam with people more often – I've done it a few times and loved it. There's nothing quite like creating something beautiful together.

I'm curious about everything, especially nature. I'm slowly learning the names and properties of every plant I come across – I can identify any Polish tree from 50 meters away (seriously, test me!). I even grew melons, lemons, pomegranates and goji berries in my tiny apartment room! I love food and cooking, trying to pick out every flavor in a dish. I'm convinced there are almost no wrong food combinations. I love mixing salty with sweet, sour with spicy – whatever works.

I live in Warsaw (Poland's capital), but I've always been drawn to nature. Every free weekend I'm either walking in the nearby forest or taking short trips out of the city. I'm not a fan of winter here though, so I try to escape to somewhere sunnier for at least part of it.

I also do rock climbing – both bouldering and rope. Recently I started learning Spanish with plans to travel solo through Latin America. I'm pretty social and love having people over for dinner and cooking together. I see my friends almost every day. Meeting new people and hearing their stories is one of my favorite things – there's always something new to learn.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Honestly I don't have a ton of experience with physical work - but I can do basic stuff, like for example I install lamps or floor heating in my flat myself, paint walls, small fixes with the plumbing, change by bike break. I help my parents with their cottage house and do some gardening chores.

I am pretty fluent with technology, since this is the area I work in. I also have a few math students if by any chance you find a use for that.

Everyone says so, but I really think I do learn fast :) I know how to be well-organized and responsible, on trips I am usually one of the first people to think about groceries, navigation, where to sleep etc. I am not afraid of any physical work, in fact I find it relaxing as it's a nice escape from a desk job.
