Hi! My name is Arnaud, pronounced 'arr-no'. I'm a 28-year-old Frenchman from Paris.
In my day-to-day life, having a computer science degree, I work as a freelancer doing software development for multiple clients. Despite this, I have a deep passion for adventure and the wilderness that I want to pursue.
I had the honor and opportunity to serve for a few months in the French Foreign Legion, part of the French army, but had to leave due to an injury. While I was there, it became clear to me that travelling around and spend time outdoors was definitely what I wanted to do.
Since then, I wish to travel to the United States to visit and help around in that country that I am passionate about. I hope to move there permanently at some point in my life.
Over the years I had the chance to travel to some beautiful places and discover other cultures including South Korea, Vietnam, Japan, Poland, Russia and the USA. I love to socialize, learn and share about different cultures.
During the fall of 2023, I was two months in Oregon as my first workaway to help around a farm. It has been one of the best experiences in my life, and I learned so much, not only about animals and how to care for them but also about a variety of outdoor / manual topics from construction and fencing to wood working and stall cleaning.
Thanks to my degree and my job, I've become fluent in both spoken and written English. As a French native, I also speak and write French fluently and can teach you if you'd like!
I consider myself a hard working guy. I love to help around and I find satisfaction in a job well done. While I might not be the best with outdoor and manual skills yet, I am very eager to learn and never shy away from work. I can also do some basic cooking. I wish to learn many skills by helping around, especially related to the outdoor lifestyle such as hunting, fishing, repairing things, managing an isolated place and animal care.
Talking about animals, I love them and enjoy caring for them. Living in a big city I never had the chance to own something other than cats but I did some dog-sitting and my mother being a horse rider, I have been around and rode horses multiple times. I received basic training at western riding through multiple class and would like to practice more eventually.
I take good care of my health and fitness and I like to workout or go for a run a few times per week, but work will always come first if it is needed.
I've had a driving license for several years and drive frequently. I also have experience with ATVs and I own a motorcycle license.
