Beschreibung

Hi, we are Antje and Jens and our two daughters Nele,12, and Elin, 9. We are German but have been living in Australia for 8 years now. We decided to take a family sabbatical and will go travelling for the next year. We start in New Zealand in November and will be there for 6 months, during our time there we will decide if we stay longer or take off somewhere else.
It would be great if our time could be a mix of travelling, relaxing, exploring and working, to learn new things and meet like minded people.
We are a Steiner based, nature loving family and like all sorts of outdoor activities - hiking, bike riding, swimming and canoeing, just being out there and enjoy the beauty around. We love gardening and wholesome sustainable living, our dream is to build our own home and live selfsufficient.
We love travelling and to see different parts of the world, learn about people and their culture.

We love to work with our hands and learning new skills.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Jens is an engineer but his real passion is working with his hands, he is very skilled and handy in all sorts of things - woodwork, building, maintenance. He started his working life as a plumber so he has experience in that field too. And he is the best pasta and pizza cook we know!
Before the children I worked as a physiotherapist but haven't since. My real interest is to live as healthy and sustainable as possible. So everything I can do by myself, I will and my skills are in these fields. Gardening, I can cook and bake, for more than 20 years I bake our bread, I can sew and spin, wet and dry felt, my daughters teach me how to knit. Whatelse? I don't know, I am a 'learning by doing' person and am always happy to try new things, for example I would love to have my own bees and learn how to make cheese. So may be one of my skills is to pick up new skills?

Was noch ...

We know that the usual workawayer are singles or couples and hardly families. We hope some of the hosts gives us a chance to meet them though and themselves to meet our two girls. They are happy beautiful souls, full of phantasy and very creative. They both love music, Nele plays the violin and Elin loves to sing and plays the recorder, we will take their instruments on our journey. They both are great in knitting and crochet and can teach others. They would love to meet other children and can look after younger ones. Nele can bake and do basic cooking and Elin loves gardening, so both of them could help too.
We are travelling in a campervan, so we don't really need accomodation but from time to time to sleep in a real bed and have a shower would be nice and if we can stay somewhere without paying campground fees definitely helps our budget.
