Hi! I’m Anna, I’m 22 years old and I’m from Genoa, northern Italy. I'm finising a bachelor in Communication and Journalism in Milan and would like to have a workaway experience before I start my master's degree :)
I started using workaway because I’ve always loved travelling and I wanted to try a new way of doing it. I’ve only had one experience working in a hostel in Prague but I know it’s gonna be the first of a long series because it made me realise this is how I want to travel: getting to know places deeply, connecting with lots of people, learning new skills and having authentic experiences in touch with nature and local culture.
I’m really open minded and I love to discover other people’s perspective on things; I'm super curious and interested in how people live in places and contexts different from mine. For me travelling is putting myself in someone else’s shoes and experiencing life from their point of view.
I also consider myself to be quite dynamic and a fast-learner, I can adjust easily to a new context and I love challenging myself and playing with my comfort zone.
I’m really easygoing and become outgoing when I’m comfortable, I love meeting new people and being in social situations but also I cherish my time alone.
Volunteering has always had an important place in my life. I started doing it thanks to the scout association and then I kept going on my own because I really believe in its value, so I'm glad that workaway gives you a chance to experience volunteering in some many different ways and shapes.
I’m also really into spirituality and would like to learn more about holistic practises; I’ve always been fascinated by this world but never got a chance to actually dive into it.
Can’t wait for the next adventure!! :))

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I know how to use Wordpress and Adobe to create and manage contents for websites. I have experience managing social media profiles for organisations, creating both the graphich and written parts.
I've worked as a waitress and informal caterer and I also have experience with kids both as a babysitter and an educator.
I have also volunteered teaching italian and english, so I would say I'm capable in this field as well.
Thanks to being in the scout association for years, I'm really comfortable living in close contact with nature and with a rustic lifestyle. I know all the basics of camping like building a tent (even an elevated one!), building a kitchen, making fire etc and I love doing all these things and havng the chance to live in wilderness!
Lastly I have always had a passion for writing and photography, so if needed I can also help with that :)

Was noch ...

I love being outdoor either lost in nature or visiting cities, I’m really into sports and would like to try new ones like surfing and kitesurfing.
At the same time I love spending time at home, chilling with music or with a good book/movie; I’m also getting passionate about cooking and trying to learn video editing.
Something really important to me is keeping up with the news and knowing what’s going on in the world; I’m really into activism and I love taking part to demonstrations for the issues I care for like civil rights. In the future I’d like to work or volunteer for a NGO in the field of development and international cooperation.
Last but not least I love writing and I'm really into photography: my dream is to combine my passions and become a travel reporter, documenting what I see around the world
