UPDATE - I AM LOOKING FOR WORKAWAY - SEPTEMBER 2024, THE BEST WOULD BE ANIMALS (HORSES), DANCE/THEATRE/MUSIC, CRAFTING/WOODWORKING PROJECTS! EUROPE/CANADA!


I am Anna from Prague. Here, I would like to briefly introduce myself. I would say I am rather a diverse person, but overall, I focus on three main fields - education, nature and arts.

Concerning education - I studied at the Faculty of Education - English and French languages. I always knew I want to work with people, youth, children, to share to transmit knowledge and skills. I have been working with children as a teacher for 8 years now. I used to work with mentally impaired children and currently, I touch on themes as safe, effective and autonomous ways of teaching. Couple of years ago, I used to cook in a small school for about 25 children and staff - mainly vegetarian cuisine.

Similarly, I take part in summer camp team for teenagers where we learn about physical and mental strenght, live in tee pees, wash ourselves in a creek. In high school I organize a project based on working on a farm where my students learn how to take care of animals and general knowledge about agriculture and crafting skills.

It is a lovely project to me, since I used to do horseriding for about 10 years ago. I am able to ride from walking to galloping, but I resonate the most with some ideas of horsemanship techniques and I am not an ambitious horserider, I rather share their peace. Through horses, I learned about general life on a farm and then I continued volunteereng on some of them.
With nature also goes my another passion - hiking! In Czechia, we have wonderful trails to wildcamp, two years ago I did Camino de Santiago. I chose a way from Bilbao to Finisterra, since I believe this is the end of the trail - where the ocean is :) In total, it was about 850 km.

Art - I love being creative as far as I always have a sketchbook and a book with me in my backpack. For the last few years, I have attended several workshops and seminars about theatre. Currently I perform at one project emerging from authorial acting and I am a member of theatre ensemble. I love working with my body, with some dance and movement techniques, I like to use drama improv techiques as well. I also work with my voice - I sing in a choir. Occasionally, I play the guitar.
I am passionate about what I do, I am always amazed when some fields start to connect - to teach language through drama, to be in nature all together and learn together, to convert some rules of working with attention, atmosphere and space from theatre to my classes.

Apart from all of this, I love travelling, that is why we all here :) I have been using hitchiking for about 7 years, I love meeting people and share more than constantly seeing and visiting places. I prefer going off the beaten path than choosing the easiest way!


Here in Workaway, I perceive this platform as a unique opportunity to travel to meet people and places where I can contribute with what I love to do.

I have studied English and French at the Factulty of Education Charles University. Currently, I am teaching English in a public school and alternative school, having about 8 years of practice, mainly with children aged 6-17.

Was noch ...

I would say about my personality to be talkative and sociable, but the pandemic kind of changed that indeed and I have to say I equally appreciate my time and silence around me. :)
