Hi! I'm a 25 year-old female traveling for the next few months in Asia and Europe before graduate school starts. I've spent most of the last two years in outdoor education as a backcountry backpacking guide in the United States. I'd love to share my knowledge for backpacking with those looking for volunteer guides. I also keep having dreams about working as a receptionist in a hostel, and would particularly enjoy living out my life in hospitality like in the book I Served the King of England.

I’m currently looking for Workaway opportunities in Asia and am particularly interested in deepening my practice of Buddhism. I’m writing now from Thailand!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I'm a backpacking guide and K-12 English teacher. I've worked in schools and programs across the US teaching wilderness survival skills. I know how to make fire by friction, carve spoons, read a map, create a shelter with a tarp, camp cook, lead hikes, and tie a primitive pack with a tarp and string. I also know about leatherwork and how to make a quill pen with a goose feather as well as homemade walnut husk ink. I'm interested in natural fiber dying with indigo and can teach others how to knit. In the classroom, I've designed my own high school English course and substitute taught in the Philadelphia public school system last year. I love walking and learning. When I'm not outdoors I'm reading books. I used to be a software engineer, so I'm very computer literate and also know how to work Adobe InDesign. I'm attending graduate school this fall and hope that my knowledge and skills will help me learn from and with others before I head back to the states. I'm looking to be with good people.
