Hello,
we’re Vika and Alex! We're an open-minded couple from Karelia, Russia. It’s a marvelous place with lots of forests and thousands of lakes around.

We want to be a part of an interesting project in summer 2023! It would be a great chance to get some new wonderful first-hand experience and immersion into new culture & lifestyle.

• I am Alex and I'm 25. I've always been interested in helping people. When I was studying at the university I was a volunteer and an employee of companies connected with assistance. Besides, I have an experience as a member of search detachment. Actually, I am so grateful for that, as it gave me the opportunity to visit Finland and see another country for the first time.

Now I am a freelancer and seller on a marketplace. So, I have time to travel, help others and exchange experience.

My hobbies are cryptotrading, sport activities, reading, learning English - and I really adore watching movies and series in it. I dream to improve my English (I am pre-intermediate now) and maybe a couple more languages. I'd like to visit many countries and by the way, I am a cosmopolitan.

• I'm Vika and I’m 23. I have always been interested in cultural exchange. That’s why I was studying in the institute of foreign languages, was a permanent member of multicultural projects. For example, in 2019 my family was a host for a girl from Minnesota, the USA.

Now I am an online English tutor. So, I have time to travel and combine it with being helpful for you :)

My hobby is watching series (I’ve watched more than 80), learning and teaching English, taking pictures and meeting new people. My dream is to see the word and broaden my mind even more.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

• Vika:
Organizing events. While learning to become a teacher, I’ve got such a useful skill, as it’s essential to organize activities for students to make them more motivated about their studying. Talking about some experience examples, I was responsible for organizing lots of events for students from the USA like horse riding; was in charge of preparing New Year’s holiday at university; was responsible for organizing my mother’s master classes and exhibitions (she is an artist).

Working with social media. I was working as a stories maker for 3 years, where I learned to interact with audience, write engaging texts and create a beautiful picture. Talking about some examples, I was in charge of a USA blogger's content, who worked as one of the team leaders of Google; was making content for a Russian brand "RO" and a ballet school for kids.

Communication. I am an online English tutor at this very moment. It’s a must for me to be a friendly and communicative person :) We talk a lot during classes and I am fond of meeting new people. Moreover, while being a content creator or being responsible for organizing events, you boost your communication skills as well.

Creativity. I guess all my projects are eye-catching and outstanding. Being a student, I was always participating in many art projects. As the result, I got the Oxford Russia Fund Stipend & the Stipend of the Republic of Karelia. Moreover, in 2019-2023 I was a writer at "IFL Talk" magazine. My core rubric there was "Cooking". I was cooking outstanding dishes.

Fast learning. I believe this skill is my superpower as well. When the situation requires something I haven’t faced with — I learn and do it. For example, when there was a need to make costumes, I learned fast; when there was a need to help my father with the repair — I learned fast how to do it, etc.

• Alex:
Household. I was living in a single family house for 22 years. There were many pets and a garden to look after. Moreover, there always was a regular construction of something. I even can cut wood, fire a furnace and pull water at home (cause there was no plumbing). So, I know what the home-maker means.

Responsibility. When I was working somewhere I always showed myself as a responsible person. For example, when I was a pizza maker, I was promoted to become a pizza maker in charge in 3 weeks.

Doing things great. I am a perfectionist. So, it means any work will be done perfectly.

Fast problem solving. I prefer to come up with simplifications and use lifehacks. For example, I always use Google Sheets. I try to automate processes with formulas and don't waste my time. I also like creating crafts if it can simplify life.

Computer skills. I am an advanced PC user. I can use a standard software package (Microsoft Office, for example), a little Photoshop. Basically, give me time and I can master any software. By the way, I was a student of physics and engineering.
