hi there ! i’m a travel nurse taking some time away, i’ve recently spent about 6 months doing a work trade on a farm in hawaii and am headed further west 🙂 i’m forever interested in learning anything you'd have to share, any new experiences, delving into the community around me, and spending time outside. I’m happy to acclimate to any conditions, and am extremely easy going, so i’d be open to helping wherever is needed! I get joy from new discoveries, trying any // all foods & beverages, reading, drawing / painting / anything artistic really, and connecting with new friends. Can't wait to hopefully connect soon!
Amy: Hello! I am a mental health case manager seeking time away from the field to connect with nature, do manual work with my hands and body outside, and to feel more connected to the people and world around me. I worked on an organic vegetable farm from July 2020 to late November 2020, and have been left with a desire to get back to the earth, tend to it, and immerse myself in nature ever since then. During my time at the farm, we picked and grew a variety of vegetables (cucumbers, zucchini, arugula, garlic, onions, peppers, spinach, cabbage, kale, lettuce, tomatoes, butternut/acorn/variety of big squashes, herbs, and more), weeded, covered crops, seeded, pruned, helped with tarps and soil needs, and helped run the CSA for community members. While working on this farm, my farm mate and I lived and slept in handmade wooden shacks and had a couple fun “pets” that set up shop in our kitchen and under my bed, like garden spiders, black snakes, and katydids. I love to bake and cook, write nonfiction, go on long walks, and sing and listen to music. I am contemplating opening up my own bakery one day, and would love to bake for any and all hosts I happen to be staying with 🙂

Was könntest du arbeiten?
Alex - I have experience working on / caretaking a 3.5 acre coffee farm in hawaii including planting, transplanting, weed whacking, picking and processing coffee, managing a farm stand, growing and harvesting various tropical fruit, fertilizing and pruning. Apart from this, I have formal training as a registered nurse in several specialities.

Alex - In terms of hobbies, I like to dabble in everything from chess (which I have been particularly obsessed with this past year) and any game play in general (particular board), reading / writing, learning any homesteading skills I can (recently i've been making my own hummus, brewing loads of teas, making tinctures and scrubs, and attempting to reuse as much as I can) to swimming, hiking etc.
