Hi! My name is Xanthe (they/them), I'm 18, and before starting my studies in film-making, I'm taking a gap year in order to discover the world!

My solo travels have brought me to Ireland, the UK and Greece, where I have met wonderful people. I was born in the Netherlands but my family moved to France, so I'm bilingual :)

I love reading, playing and organising games, music, theatre, and make short films!

One day I would like to retire in a little cottage in the woods, with stained windows and a lot of cats :)

I have been helping on my parents camp site for 3 years. I work as a bartender and waiter, but I also organize games and activities for the kids in high season.
Directing films has taught me a lot about quick problem solving and multi tasking!

Vom Workawayer () für Host (Get to know the locals and ...)

I want to thank the whole team for my amazing stay! I was at the hotel for around 5 weeks, working in the cleaning team. I got to sleep in a private mobil home a bit away from the rest of the rooms, which was very nice (kids tend to make a lot of noise in the morning).

vom Host (Learning and sharing skills ...) für Workawayer ()

Xanthe and my son bonded over Minecraft. They also played lots of board and card games and did some filming and video editing as a project. Xanthe also helped with splitting firewood and some house chores . We also got to go to a few music events and some beach walks. Vom Workawayer () für Host (Learning and sharing skills ...)

I stayed with Grit for one month! It was not what I expected, but in a good way. Grit is very friendly and always offering things to do and see. Malvin, even if he doesn't want to do his homeschooling, is a very smart kid. I really enjoyed my stay and learned a lot about Ireland. I would absolutely stay again!
