Beschreibung

We’re Varvara (29) and Nikolai (27), a married couple from Berlin, and we’re we are currently traveling in Peru and Colombia till March 2026.

Our goal is to take a break from our routines, experience life in a new part of the world, and contribute to a meaningful project along the way. Rather than just passing through, we’d love to stay in one place for a while, learn new skills, and be part of a local community.

We’re especially drawn to farming and hands-on tasks like gardening or simple construction. We’re not afraid of physical work and enjoy being outdoors and active.

A little background: We met 8 years ago during an international program on sustainable agriculture and cooking — with participants from Germany, Russia, and Tanzania. That’s where our shared journey began, and it deeply shaped our values.

What we’re passionate about:
• Growing herbs and vegetables on our big city balcony
• Caring for animals
• Reducing food waste (Varvara volunteers with Foodsharing and helps supply shelters with rescued food)
• Sports (Nikolai loves volleyball and bouldering; Varvara practices yoga and dances whenever she can)
• We love spending time in nature and Varvara is a guide in Forest Bathing/Shinrin-yoku (Meditation in Nature) as part of her job
• Music festivals, good conversations, and meeting people from different walks of life
• We like to do art - Varvara especially likes doing collages

We’re non-smokers, allergy-free, reliable, and easy to get along with. Most of all, we’re curious, respectful, and genuinely interested in learning and giving back.

We’d love the chance to help out, learn from you, and be part of your daily life for a while.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We bring a mix of practical, creative, and people-oriented skills — and above all, lots of curiosity, energy, and a genuine desire to contribute, learn, and grow.

We both love working with our hands and have experience with gardening, especially growing vegetables and herbs on our sunny Berlin balcony. We’re not afraid of physical tasks like digging, carrying, painting, or simple construction — in fact, we enjoy it.

We also did already Workaway in Peru, where we contributed in gardening, permaculture, cared for animals, painted murals, did DIY Furniture, Social Media - so we have some experience and are also very flexible with tasks.

Varvara has a strong sense for detail and aesthetics, and she enjoys capturing moments through photography. At work, she helps run her company’s social media channels — from creating content to managing posts and engaging with followers. As part of her work she also guides Forest Bathing/Shinrin-yoku (a forest meditation).
Outside of work, she volunteers with Foodsharing, where she rescues surplus food and brings it to shelters.
A highlight: During her studies, she actively helped build a wooden barn on her university campus — and discovered how much fun hands-on teamwork can be. She speaks German, English, and Russian fluently, and is currently learning Spanish.

Niko is happiest when moving — whether it’s helping in the garden, doing something outdoors, or working on a small building or repair task. He’s reliable, thoughtful, and quick to pick up new skills. He speaks German, English, and French, and is also learning Spanish.

We’re friendly, adaptable, and love connecting with others. Whether it’s caring for animals, working in the garden, helping around the house, offering meditation workshops or supporting with small creative projects — we’re ready to get involved and share our energy with your project.
