Hi,
I'm Angela. I am looking for workaway projects because
I want to meet different people, learn about Latin American culture and use whatever knowledge and skills I have to help make this world a better place.
My interests include community projects, tourism/customer service, translation and learning about things related to sustainability, nature and local customs. It would be fantastic to share family life at some projects and also to meet and work with other volunteers.

My main job is in Administration, working as a Personal Assistant in the strategic leadership office of a large university. I am an excellent organiser and make sure the bosses' days run smoothly.

I have experience with basic maintenance tasks like painting, wallpapering, sanding, etc.; including mosaic making. At 'home' in the UK, I have volunteered with a Buddhist charity where I helped turn a warehouse into a community centre with café, shop, offices and spiritual spaces. I have a food hygiene certificate and helped in the café for some months and also with charity sales. I enjoy working with people and providing excellent service, so people leave with a smile.

I like working in my little garden and can help with general gardening, weeding, watering, pruning or maybe harvesting.

I can sew cushions and curtains and other home textiles.

During my studies, I spent my summers working for a travel agency and I was the tour guide on a short trip to Venice in Italy.

I like working in a team, but I am responsible and can work independently.

I'm easy-going and prefer a quiet night in (maybe with a good book) over partying. Unless there's dancing! I am a big fan of Latin dance and have taught Cuban salsa at beginners level. I like meeting new people and I would describe myself as open-minded and flexible.

I'm currently travelling in Latin America and hope to learn new skills and experience new aspects of life.

COVID 19: I have two complete doses of vaccine and a booster dose! All with vaccine certificate and of course full travel insurance.

Soy Angela y estoy interesada en proyectos de workaway porque
quiero conocer nuevas personas, aprender mas sobre las culturas latinoamericanas, practicar espanol y utilizar cualquier conocimiento y habilidades que tengo para ayudar hacer este mundo un mejor lugar para vivir. Me interesan proyectos sociales, empresas turísticas/servicio al cliente, proyectos de traducción y quiero aprender de proyectos ecologicos/granjas organicas, conservacion de naturaleza y projeyctos sociales. Sería genial poder encontrar unos proyectos viviendo con familias típicas y también conocer y trabajar con otros voluntarios.

Trabajo en administración como asistente personal para los jefes de una universidad grande en Inglaterra. Es mi responsabilidad asegurar que cada día de trabajo de los jefes está perfectamente organizado.

Tengo experiencia con tareas básicas de mantenimiento como pintar, alisar, y más. Incluso he hecho un mosaico de cerámica en mi casa en Inglaterra. 'Trabajé' como voluntaria en un centro de comunidad/centro Buddhista donde ayudé convertir un almacén en un espacio para la comunidad con oficinas, cafetería, tienda de segunda mano, y espacios spirituales. Trabajé unos meses en la cafetería y tengo un certificado de higiene alimentaria. Últimamente estaba ayudando con ferias para la comunidad en que vendimos ropa, zapatos y cosas para la casa. Me encanta trabajar con gente y hay nada más satisfactorio que cuando la gente salen felices y con una sonrisa puesta.

Me gusta tender a mi jardíncito en Inglaterra y puedo ayudar con jardinería, cosechar, etc.

Sé coser, por ejemplo sábanas, fundas, cortinas.

Durante mis estudios universitarios pasé los vacaciones de verano trabajando para una agencia de viajes. Una vez me encargaron ser la guía para un viaje corto a Venecia, Italia.

Me gusta trabajar en equipo con otros, pero igualmente soy responsable y puedo trabajar independientemente.

En general soy tranquila y prefiero una noche en casa (tal vez leyendo un libro) a fiestas, salvo si hay baile, ja, ja. Soy muy fan de salsa, bachata, merengue. Enseñe clases de salsa cubana a nivel básico.
Me encanta conocer gente nueva. Soy flexible y me adapto a diferentes situaciones y entornos.

Actualmente estoy viajando por Sudamérica y espero poder conocer mucha gente y muchos lugares interesantes.

COVID 19: Cuento con dos dosis de vacuna contra covid y una vacuna de refuerzo. Tengo los certificados de vacunacion y por supuesto policia de seguro para cualquier emergencia

Was könntest du arbeiten?

1) I'm an avid gardener and DIYer, don't mind getting my hands dirty. I've undertaken many tasks in my own house and garden. I also helped as a volunteer for a Buddhist charity turning a warehouse into a community centre with meditation space, library, office, cafe and shop (lots and lots of sanding and painting!). I am happiest working in a team with other like minded people.

*Me gusta trabajar en mi jardín y también realizo trabajos de mantenimiento en mi casa. Ayudé convertir un almacén en un centro comunitario con cafetería, tienda, biblioteca, oficinas y espacios espirituales con un grupo voluntario buddhista. Me encanta trabajar en equipo.

2) I volunteered in the cafe for 6 months and gained a food hygiene qualification.

5) I teach salsa and have a training qualification as well, if that's of interest to any community organisations.

6) I would be comfortable helping with Spanish - English or Spanish-German translations of everyday information.

7) For over 10 years now I've been renting out a room in my home and I've welcomed guests from all over the world. I'm comfortable with sharing my space and interacting with people from all kinds of different cultures.

I love anything to do with crafting, dancing or music.

Was noch ...

Give me a good book any day, nothing better to relax at the end of a hard day! I like board games, baking and cake decorating as well as arts and crafts. Working in my little garden in England is pure happiness for me.
I sing in choirs and volunteer at a Buddhist centre with charity sales.
I love latin music and dancing is just part of life. I dance (and/or sing) in the living room, while cleaning the house, at work, on the bus... -:)
I am very open to new experiences and would be happy to share my cultures and languages (German and English) with others.
