Hello! We’re Tiziana and Alex, an Italian and a Portuguese couple who have been exploring the world for the past four months. We're new to „workaway world“ and excited about our first experience! We needed a break from our full-time jobs to dedicate more time to one of our biggest passions—traveling—as well as to focus on ourselves and what brings us joy. This journey has given us unique moments together and the chance to meet so many interesting people along the way.
We’re both curious souls with a wide range of interests, often finding ourselves with a thousand things we want to do in just 24 hours! Even though we’re quite different from one another, we’ve managed to find balance and complement each other over the seven years we’ve been living together, during which we’ve lived in Lisbon and Milan.
We’re eager to experience Workaway to immerse ourselves in local cultures, improve our English, and meet people who can enrich our circle of friends around the world. We’d be more than happy to share our cultures with you and even teach you some Portuguese and Italian, if you’d like.

Tiziana is Italian but also speaks Neapolitan, the language of her hometown, and Alex is Portuguese. When we first met, we spoke in English, and then we started speaking in Italian, Portuguese, and Neapolitan simultaneously, often mixing the languages together (you can imagine the headaches we had at the end of the day!). We would love to teach our languages to anyone who’s interested. One of our goals for this Workaway experience is also to improve our English, so we would be more than happy to have a language exchange with our hosts.

Alex: highly organized, calm, dedicated, and patient. With him, everything is always in its place and well-documented—it’s impossible to lose track! He holds a degree in Environmental Engineering and a PhD in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Hydraulics. He’s passionate about technology, from web development to photo and video editing for our social channels. He loves flying his drones to discover unique places and hopes to take this passion to a professional level during this time. A nature and animal lover, he grew up by the ocean where he learned to bodyboard. While living in Portugal, he took care of cats, dogs, hamsters, birds, as well as his family’s chickens and garden! Skilled with his hands, he’s the go-to person for any repairs around the house, always finding a solution to any problem—physical or mental! He’s a reserved person but never says no to a beer with friends.
Tiziana: a bundle of energy, outgoing, and communicative. She loves being around people and hearing their stories. With a degree in Building Engineering, she’s delved into sustainability in construction, focusing on alternative solutions and materials. She calls herself an “atypical engineer” because she can’t stay confined within four walls and her mind is always buzzing with creative ideas! She’s passionate about painting and Impressionist art and has been a macramé artist with her personal brand and crafts enthusiast for three years. Sitting still is hard for her—creating is a necessity! Whether it’s a piece of art or a delicious Italian pasta dish (cooking is another passion!), she always knows how to keep busy and win people over. She’s always ready to lend a helping hand and eager to learn new things. She loves music and singing, Neapolitan pizza, turtles and sunsets.
We would be happy to help with construction projects, given our engineering background. Having always been on the other side, it would be great to get involved and get our hands dirty in building! We can be helpful with gardens and animals; especially Alex, who lived until a few years ago in a house with a vegetable garden, garden, and animals, knows what needs to be done. Tiziana loves everything related to crafts and painting—if there's anything to paint, she's on it! We both take care of the house and are quite skilled in the kitchen, whether it’s traditional recipes from our regions or something quicker; we always have the right recipe to make! We love good company, and chatting to learn about different stories and cultures fascinates us. If there’s something we’ve never done, no problem—both of us learn quickly and are curious and eager to learn!
We have experience in managing social networks and content creation (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook), as we run both a profile dedicated to Tiziana's macramé and manual arts, and one focused on our travels. Alex has a DJI Mini3 and Avata2 (FPV) drone, which he enjoys using to create videos of our trips and the amazing places we visit. His goal is to take this hobby to a professional level. In addition, we also have a camera for underwater filming. Our engineering backgrounds give us a certain ease with anything related to software and computers.

We are two travelers who love exploring new cities by following non-touristic paths (Alex is the GPS of the couple; he can find his way even in a maze!). We never miss the chance for a good trek or hike—one of our latest was up Mount Batur in Bali to see the sunrise, an unforgettable experience! We adore being in nature and enjoying its tranquility with a good book, and we’re always up for an evening with friends or a cozy movie night on the couch with a blanket and popcorn.
We’re both sea lovers, having grown up near the sea, and we love going back whenever we can to snorkel or bodyboard. Cooking is another passion we share, though we never dare touch each other’s recipes! Alex knows better than to interfere with Tiziana’s pizza dough, and she wouldn’t dream of altering his *polvo à lagareiro*.
