Hello dear “Workawayers”!

I am Stamatis coming from GreeceI am currently living in a village in central Greece, precisely in Thessaly plain.

I find really interesting the philosophy of Workaway platform. Precisely, combine journey-exploration of places-getting to know active people with some personal positive vision of life and contributing with your work abilities in it, no matter if this is about handcraft work or service work. This is how a traveler or an anthropologist can really melt in other cultures: through his integration in everyday life’s routine of local people and through his own offer of human/cultural presence and knowledge…

Concerning my past, I have participated in many different volunteer projects in countries all over the world focusing in environmental and theatrical issues. The last 13 years I conducted theatre projects as director and actor’s trainer in European, Asian and Latin American countries. Last year I had my first woraway experience, which functionned quite well...

I decided to leave Athens and to live in a small place so that I have a more balanced way of life close to nature and to God’s will.

I earn some money as a teacher, giving French language lessons (my first education). I also can communicate in 6 languages (Greek, English, French, Russian, Spanish, German). Some months ago Also started studying the Serbo-croatian language. In the close future I wouls also love to learn the Ukrainian language...

As for my abilities: I am not that charismatic in repairing or constructing objects. I am nevertheless ready and happy to collect fruits, do indoors or outdoors cleaning work, I can cook vegetarian, I can conduct theatre-voice-body work. I can try also to learn from hosts if they show me what and how to do…

My workaway moto would be: “Instead of Traveling-working-meeting let yourself be traveled-be worked-be met”...

I am very much interested in musical-theatrical and dance tradition of places I visit. By the way I have organised such projetcs of cultural exchange in differant countries of the world. I am also happy to teach some traditional song(s) from Greece...
