Kia ora and hello!

We’re Sukey and Alex, a couple in our late-twenties from New Zealand and England, we are currently in Hokkaido and will be finishing work here in late June. Sukey holds a Japanese passport and Alex has a one year working holiday visa.

We have been together for four years and are looking forward to our next adventure. We previously lived in Japan for three years as English Assistant Language Teachers, based in Kagoshima and Oita. Before that, we both worked in government roles in New Zealand.

About Sukey: I grew up in a small ski village in New Zealand, I have diverse work experience in cafes, bars, and reception. My mother is Japanese and I can speak conversational Japanese. I also have a Japanese driver’s license and plenty of driving experience. In my free time, I enjoy skiing and reading a good book.

About Alex: I am from Manchester, England and has experience in hotel and restaurant work . While he has basic Japanese speaking skills, he’s aiming to improve. Alex enjoys sports, listening to music, and going snowboarding.

Having previously worked in Japan, we understand what it is like to live and work there and we are excited to explore new opportunities.

私たちはスキーと自然が大好きです。以前は鹿児島と大分で３年間JETプログラムの教師をしていました。
スーキーは日本語能力試験４級を持っています、もうすぐ３級にチャレンジします。アレックスはもうすぐ４級を受けます。

We have been together for four years and are looking forward to our next adventure. We previously lived in Japan for three years as English Assistant Language Teachers, based in Kagoshima and Oita. Before that, we both worked in government roles in New Zealand.

We are both hardworking individuals looking for an exciting winter season in Japan. Our varied work backgrounds enable us to adapt quickly to new environments, and we pride ourselves on our maturity and ability to collaborate with people from all walks of life. Having previously worked in Japan, we understand what it is like to live and work there and we are excited to explore new opportunities.
