Beschreibung

We are Bart and Sterre, a couple from the Netherlands, and November 2024 we started a one year tour around Europe in our camper ''Waggel'', which means ''Wiggle'' in English, since it super small, cute and wiggles over the roads to our next destination. We started this travel to explore and deepen our interest, in work, lifestyle and other hobbies. We both come from sustainable backgrounds. Me (Sterre) through working in organic horticulture farms and organizing vegan caterings with vegetables we grew in our own garden, and Bart through his study, International Development Management. In this study he focused mainly on gaining more sustainability in the chain from farmer to consumer, and worked on projects around agroforestry and organic and nature-inclusive agriculture. We are an easy going couple, who love to learn, and are not afraid to work hard. We have a huge love for food and cooking, hiking, music and for our little dog George, who came with us to enjoy our travels. We like social contact to get inspired by other peoples inspirations and goals, but we also love our quiet time in our cosy camper with a good book and a glass of wine.

I (Bart) started learning Spanish for my study, International Development Management. I finished lessons in level A1 and A2.1, and I'm still good friends with Duolingo since we spend time together every night ;). I'm still a bit hesitant in speaking Spanish, but hope to learn this during some WorkAway time in Spain.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Sterre: I have a history of working on organic gardens. Some within professional gardens, but also through experimenting in our own garden. I had a vegan catering business for a few years, where we cooked with vegetables from our own garden. So I got some skills in vegan cooking and gardening.
Bart: Since I just finished my studies, I did not work a lot already on farms (only for summer jobs and in my mothers garden), however I have some knowlegde on sustainable value chains, agroforestry and nature-inclusive farming practices. I also helped Sterre with her caterings, since cooking is also one of my favorite passions.

Was noch ...

Sterre: Besides my interests in gardening and cooking, I love to make music on my guitar, read books about nature, be in nature, enjoy activities like yoga and meditation and I hope to learn more about plants this years.
Bart: I like sports, to play and to watch. I like to read books and watch movies. Further I like to explore my surroundings, mostly by walking around with our dog!

  Normally vegetarian (and we prefer organic food), but we love to get to know the local cuisine and are willing to try some meat or fish if this is included in the local cuisine, and understand that organic is not everyones way.
