Hi! My name is Spencer, I am from Canada and I’m someone who really loves travel, the outdoors, and stepping into new experiences. Hiking, exploring new places, and being active are some of my favourite ways to spend my time, and I’m always happiest when I;m outdoors. I love learning something new or pushing myself a little outside my comfort zone. I’m currently looking for a Workaway experience that feels like something that lets me immerse myself in a new environment while contributing where I can.

I pick things up quickly and genuinely enjoy being taught new skills, especially when it comes to practical, hands-on work. I wouldn’t say I’m the best cook right now, but learning to cook better is a personal goal of mine, and I’d love the opportunity to learn new recipes and kitchen skills along the way.

Overall, I’m a positive, hardworking, and curious person who enjoys helping out, staying active, and embracing new situations. I’m excited to explore, learn, and see the beauty of New Zealand during my travels!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I’m comfortable with hands-on, physical work and spending long hours outdoors. I previously worked for a labour company delivering building materials, which means I’m used to carrying heavy loads and being aware of safety on job sites. I also took construction classes in school and am comfortable using basic tools such as hammers, drills, as well as shovels, rakes, and more. I have some experience with basic maintenance tasks like painting and sanding and am happy to help with general repairs or upkeep.

I have helped friends and family with gardening tasks including digging, building garden beds, and general yard maintenance. While my experience is not extensive, I enjoy outdoor work and am eager to learn more about gardening and farming. I don’t have much farm experience yet, but I’m open minded, motivated, and quick to pick up new skills.

I also have some experience with childcare, having helped watch my neighbours’ children, and I’m comfortable assisting families when needed. In the kitchen, I’m not the strongest cook yet, but learning to cook better is a personal goal of mine. I’m happy to help with meal prep, follow recipes, and learn new dishes along the way.

Overall, I’m adaptable, hardworking, and positive, able to work well both independently and as part of a team. I enjoy learning new skills, taking initiative when needed, and helping out wherever I’m most useful.

I’m a big sports fan and enjoy staying active through tennis, basketball, and occasionally football or other sports. I’m fairly competitive and love playing board games and card games. I regularly play a variety of games with friends and family and really enjoy anything that involves strategy, teamwork, or a bit of friendly competition.

As mentioned earlier, I love the outdoors and spending time in nature. Camping and hiking are some of my favourite ways to explore new places, unwind, and challenge myself physically. Whether it’s an active day outside or a relaxed evening playing games, I enjoy connecting with people and making the most of shared experiences.
