We both seek experiences that allow us to immerse ourselves in different cultures, meet new people, spend time outside and become familiar with places that were once unknown to us.
Beschreibung
We are a young couple currently living in Southeast Alaska working as bicycle tour guides for the summer season. We both grew up in Bellingham, Washington which instilled in us a love for the great outdoors. This interest has brought us to many different amazing locations where we have both worked at a wide variety of jobs, that included the culinary industry, outdoor education, construction, landscaping, tour guiding and more. This wide array of jobs has allowed us to diversify our skill set in a way that has made us adaptable to all situations. We are always eager to learn new things and build upon these skills and are hoping to find a new stomping ground to both develop our abilities as well as leave a positive impact on the space that we stay.

I (Sofia) have spent a lot of my life learning Spanish and have had the opportunity to use it a lot in various practical settings throughout my travels and it is one of my favorite skills to improve upon. I find that it opens up so much more of the world when you are able to converse with people that speak a different language and allows you to immerse yourself in a culture so much more than you ever could without speaking the language. I think that learning other languages is a very important practice. Julien has sparked interest in speaking more Spanish in the last few years especially working at various jobs where most of his coworkers speak only Spanish. He is eager to learn more and we have a great time practicing with one another to build our skills.

Was könntest du arbeiten?
We have both worked at a wide variety of jobs landing us quite the diverse set of skills. Sofia has spent years working in the restaurant industry developing exceptional customer service skills, delegating tasks amongst other employees when in a managerial/ leadership position, addressing issues and conflict, maintaining organization and working in very fast paced environments.Sofia has also spent time volunteering on a farm, building various structures, working on outdoor upkeep and general labor. Julien has worked as an outdoor educator, teaching people about their local surroundings, he has also ski intructed which put him in a position of great responsibility as he guided students down the mountain, he also has a lot of experience in construction/ building and repair as well as landscaping with an array of skills in that area. We are both currently working as bicycle tour guides guiding large groups on various tours where we are responsible for their safety as well as teaching them passionately about the history and surrounding environment of the area.
