Hi!

Let's start with this....I realize I may be slightly older, okay a lot older, than a lot of the Workawayers out there, but we're only as old as we feel, right! I was so happy and grateful to have found the Workaway site as this enabled me to take one year off of my my 9-5 life in 2023. Some called me crazy, some courageous,( maybe I'm a little bit of both), as I embarked on an incredible adventure through Europe and Central America, utilizing Workaway as my means of travel and connection. Throughout my journey I had the amazing opportunity to immerse myself in various communities and cultures , it was truly a life changing experience! But now, I have this burning desire to keep the adventure going right here in my own backyard. Oh Canada , I know you have so much to explore and offer and I would truly love to experience my own country the way I did abroad, and give back to the communities that make it unique.

Enthusiasm, glass half full, positive, creative, and the ability to adapt easily to new situations are just some of my attributes. I offer a youthful mature energy, and enjoy learning new things and connecting with people. I’m very easy going, get along with all walks of life, self directed and flexible with volunteering hours.

While away I had a bit of an A-Ha moment where I realized I am happiest helping others and making a difference. I'm super passionate about creating warm and inviting spaces both indoors and out. I am not afraid to get my hands dirty or of a little physical labour. I worked the olive harvest in Greece, was part of a renovation team in the UK, helped with many DIY projects in various homes during my travels throughout Europe. I dog sat, child minded, painted, gardened, cooked, served meals, cleaned, organized sheds and homes, and helped to refurbish a boat. I tended the pollinator gardens and paths at a butterfly garden, helped to keep a hostel running and full of good vibes in Costa Rica. I'm a go with the flow kinda person, always up for new experiences and learning along the way.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Hmm...well I have been a home owner and done many DYI projects, pretty good with a hammer and paint brush, and enjoy gardening. I have raised 2 independent, funny , talented amazing daughters, who inspire me daily. I have years of experience with customer service having worked in the healthcare field for over 20 years, and for the past 10 in sales and marketing. I like people and they seem to like me too!

I enjoy getting out in nature, and have experienced many great hiking trails in and around Vancouver over the years. I love riding my bike and often use this as my way around the city when I can. I am not afraid of hard work or getting dirty, I think I am a farm girl at heart! I can help around your house, care for your children and pets, cook, clean, and be good company :) Thanks for taking the time to read my profile, I hope we have a chance to meet!
