Beschreibung

SHEA: I love to play, and have/make fun, especially outdoor games with lots of running around(like ultimate frisbee). After a good day of running around I like to settle in, eat delicious food, and play music (mainly piano). I cherish all kinds of music, and work very hard to appreciate the layers of depth that music possesses. My dad is a professional violinist/fiddler and I grew up watching and learning from him in pubs all around Portland, Oregon. Growing up in Portland I have also been lucky enough to see some great traditional Irish musicians including Kevin Burke and Lunasa. Creativity is a mode of engagement that I enjoy applying to artistic projects like song writing, as well as tangible and physical endeavors like a garden project.

I’m a very fresh student in the world of sustainable/regenerative agriculture. I just finished my second year at the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, with sustainable agriculture as a focus. I have done work-trade on some community farms near where I grew up, building some practical experience in farm work. In school I have focused on applying the natural sciences(Chemistry and Biology) to agriculture.

AVA: Oh you know, shapes and colors. Colors and shapes. I love creating with any form I can get my hands on - clay, wood, paint, colored pencils, food and heat, language, my own body. Dancing, that old lover! I've been really getting into leopards recently, or maybe they've been getting into me. Inclined towards nuance. Easily delighted. Dripping in scarves. Raised in part by the temperate rainforest of the Pacific Northwest, and I think it shows. I love to learn and have encountered shattering depth in every subject I've explored; eco-literature, chemistry, conservation biology, ceramics, Eastern psychology, political science. My fire is fueled by authentic connection, butter and tea, spirals, dynamic exploration at every scale, anything funky, the constant striving for embodied presence, comfy pants.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Farming/Gardening/Landscaping (Ava and Shea):

Experience with basic clearing of weeds, brambles, etc as well as basic planting. Small amount of experience with pruning (not professional). Some experience with animal care (Shoveling goat poop and milking goats). Comfortable with general physically rigorous labor.

Music (Shea):

Experienced piano player and composer. Some formal education in music theory and love to share/nerd out about it. Able to read music (maybe sight-read if easy). Mostly play by following chord charts. Enjoy singing.

Childcare (Ava):
I've worked at a daycare for the last 3 years (ages 0-5), and have taught circus theater summer camps to kids (ages 6-17) every summer for the last 6 years.

We both love to cook! Ava especially!

Shea: I would really love to play Ultimate Frisbee in Ireland so if you know of any opportunities I’d love to hear about it.

Ava: I am really drawn to experiencing ancient and sacred places in Ireland! Any recommendations or stories?
