Hola,

My name is Sharon. I am 29 years old and (when I am not travelling) I live in Rotterdam.

People describe me as a very outgoing, social, hard working and (if I may believe my friends) very funny person. I love exploring the world and I like meeting new people.

A few years ago, I started my first volunteering experience as a hostel manager in Fuerteventura, Canary Islands. Initially, the plan was to work in this surf hostel for 2 months but I ended up staying there for 2 years. I have learned a lot in these 2 years and ever since I am hooked on travel-working abroad.

When I arrived back in the Netherlands, I was a manager at a restaurant. I liked the place but it did not feel as a perfect fit for me. This is where I decided to move to Ibiza and travel-work for 6 months in a restaurant as a waitress.

After this experience, I really wanted to move to Barcelona but was not able to due to COVID-19. This is where I decided to move back to the Netherlands and pursue my profession as a sales and event manager.

Now that we are able to travel again, I can’t wait to go and explore again!

My professional skillset consists of a variety of skill groups. I have a MBO degree (intermediate vocational level) in hairdressing and have been working (on and off) in the same salon since I was 14.

Most of my other soft- and hard skills have been acquired during my travel-working in the last couple of years.
