Hello! We are a couple from the United States. We just completed our first Workaway on a farm in Nepal and are now looking for another Workaway experience in South America. We are looking for a chance to learn about a new culture, farming, and sustainable living. We are motivated, hard working, adaptable, and quick learners. We both have a background in health sciences (Adam: neuroscience and biology, Shannon: public health and nutrition). We love spending time outside hiking, camping, or playing with our two dogs, who will be staying in the US with Adam's parents while we volunteer. Our careers are approaching a natural break and we want to take this opportunity to go on a meaningful adventure. We hope to spend a lot of our time on workaway being helpful, learning new skills, sharing our skills, and exploring some of the surrounding areas. We plan on bringing our laptops to the workaway and applying to jobs on some days after we complete our volunteering hours.

Shannon:
- Has experience volunteering in community gardens.
- Has experience volunteering with refugee communities in the Unites States.
- Has experience hiking, backpacking, camping, kayaking, and loves being active.
- Enjoys being creative and creates pottery in spare time.
- Enjoys cooking and baking and creates dishes from many different cultures.
- Has a Masters in Public Health and is a Registered Dietitian. She is knowledgeable about nutrition and plant biology and would like to learn more about agriculture, gardening, and sustainable food systems.
- Has experience traveling to many different countries and enjoys connecting with locals and learning about different cultures.
Adam:
- Is an experienced hiker and backpacker who has completed two National Outdoor Leadership School courses.
- Has experience tutoring school aged children in South Africa.
- Has experience volunteering at community gardens.
- Has a PhD in Neuroscience and a BS in Biology and Chemistry.
- Has experience traveling to many different countries and enjoys connecting with locals and learning about different cultures.
