Hello dear hosts:) my name is Saphira

In 2021 I had the opportunity to do a Workaway in Costa Rica. I really enjoyed it and have since been looking forward to repeating that great experience.
I really enjoyed having time to explore my surroundings and understand where I am. Slowing down, getting into a new routine in a foreign place, getting to know people and sharing interesting conversations have become invaluable to me.
I learned that if I really want to go somewhere or do something, I might as well do it by myself and so far it has been very fulfilling. At the same time, I really appreciate social connections, which is why I am slowing down with the “solo-exploring” and want to consciously go to places where I can see myself building connections.

I am the oldest of four kids, so I am used to having people around me, having to act responsible and take care of myself and my surroundings. I like to get to know new people. In my opinion, meeting new people from all over is the best way to widen one's perspective and promote a more differentiated thinking. A sustainable healthy lifestyle is something I am aiming for. "Treat others the way you would want to be treated" is what I try to live by.
My family and friends would describe me as a very peace-loving person and at the same time curious. Unobtrusive but still a talker if opportunity is given :)
In 2023 I decided to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in International Marketing, doing so entirely remote. This has given me a lot of freedom which I have mostly used to work and pay for my travels.

Before I forget, I am a 23 year old born and raised in Switzerland :) I am not sure if this is relevant to you but I just remembered that this generally belongs in a standard description.

I would be happy to help anybody who is trying to practice German conversation, Swiss-German or English. Even though I had more years of french classes in school than spanish, I have become way more confident in my spanish skills through several visits to spanish speaking countries and friends. And like I said, my french is not as good as my spanish, listening and understanding is easy, while forming my own sentence takes a little longer but I do get there faster every day :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Thanks to my younger siblings I have experience in child care. Additionally I used to babysit regularly for two families and at my former church.
My other work experiences include helping out at the local library and working in customer service for a big health insurance company. After that I started to work temporarily in hospitality, service and as a hostess beside university and right now I am splitting my time between a security job and customer service in the billing team of a Laboratory.
I have been confronted with a lot of very different people every day and was able to gain experience in finding solutions in the customers and business's best interest.

I really love animals and would like to learn about the special needs of your little or big friend(s), if you have any, to be able to help you take care of them. I rode horses for 5 years, but as I live in the city it got expensive and the required time investment didn’t work with school. Since I was little we continuously had pets at home, rabbits, mice and right now we are living with two cats.

I would love to learn more about gardening or nature in general. Physical work does not scare me away.

Above all of that I am very interested in learning new things and being able to put them into practical use right away.
