We now did 4 workaways and love this kind of travelling. Starting to travel again through the Netherlands.....We like to visit more communities and experience this way of living.

Hello there,

Thanks for taking the time to scroll trhrough our profile!

We are a couple who start travelling again from may 2024 through western Europe. Last year we travelled through Central America and a part of Eastern Europe. We did a workaway in Colombia and we did three workaways in Europe. We had such great profound experiences that we also like to do this again from may 2024. Now we like to experience more community/garden life because we see this as a opportunity for our future.

We don’t know how long we will continue to travel, we will just see and take it day by day. We like to take it slow, not jumping from hotspot to hotspot but rather staying longer in one place to get to know the place and the people on a deeper level.

Through volunteering we hope to help, learn some new skills and get inspired by people that are living more of the land and choose another direction. Currently we are both wondering which way we want to go with our life. We both work with children and have caring personality's. But is the job we currently have the one that makes us truly happy? Maybe one day a farm or living in a community? We also love the country side and want to experience living there. We always lived in bigger cities. Through workaways we hope to get wiser.

Sophie is really energetic, spontaneous and eager to learn new skills. She loves being in the outdoor and works as a volunteer in the city garden of Utrecht. She is really good with children and caring. No wonder she is a pediatric nurse. Sanne is a little bit more chill, easy going and a kind human being. besides that she is very sporty and loves every fysical activity there is. For work she helps children with problems they experience through their school time. Good listener and open minded. We both also worked in the catering industry for multiple years.

We both have common sense, an curious mind, eagerness to learn and like to be active. Just let us know what we can do and we do it.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Through our job we learned to be patience, hospitality, flexible, open minded and spontaneous. No wonder we both work in the social sector. Sanne is, for 6 years, a coach for youth, especially in education. Sophie is a pediatric nurse for 3 years.

In our younger years we worked in the catering industry. Sanne worked 10 years in a sportsbar and Sophie worked in different restaurants and coffee bars. We like to make sure others feel good and have a good time. We have an open personality and both are sensitive for a good atmosphere and know how small things can make a difference.

Sophie is really assertive, likes to take quick action and comes up with small but good ideas. Pragmatic is her second name. Sanne sees what needs to be done and likes to think tactical. Sanne is also good at working at projects. Give her a deadline and she makes sure it's get's done. Sanne can also work with social media and video editing.

As volunteers Sanne has been a coach/trainer for soccer, went to Tanzania to help with school competitions and helped at summer camps. She also organised a fundraiser to buy more soccers balls for the children in Tanzania. Sophie also worked multiple years at sailing summer camps. We like to help others and get enthusiastic by achieving something toghether as a team.

In Colombia we did a workaway at a ecolodge in the mountains. We worked the land, helped with the children and helped with guests and cleaning. In Austria we joined a self sustainable family in the mountains, learned a lot and it really felt fulfilling to help the family with the simple but hard word. In Slovenia we worked at a veggie bar. The social aspect of the bar suited us well. The last two workaways we extended our stay because we and the family really enjoyed each others company.

In the end we are travelling to meet new people, learn new skills and help others. We sometimes miss the collective attitude in our country and hope to find this more by doing workaways.

In our free time we like to be creative in any form, be outside or play a game . We brought our favorite game Wizard 🧙‍♀️! If you like we can definitely teach you!
