Hi, I’m Ronja :)
19 years old and from Germany.

I’m a very creative person and love to paint and make creative projects. I would describe myself as a pretty positive person, or at least I’m working on seeing the positive in all situations. 🌙
I like to go for walks, do yoga, read and cook, but if your looking for me I’m probably somewhere painting :) 🎨
I'm more introverted, but I want to challenge myself to see the world and gain new experiences.
I graduated in June 2023 and now i am taking a gap year and to travel a bit 🌴🌊🧘🏼‍♀️🌙 Find out more about myself and maybe get an idea of what and where I want to study later. I‘m fascinated to learn about new cultures and places, ways of living, improve my languages skills and get to know locals.

Workaway plans:
I love children and have done babysitting for about 2 years, so I could imagine being kind of an aupair in another country as well.
Because i grew up in a city, I would love to get to know the country and farm life and have more nature around me. I'd also love if I could offer my creative skills while doing a workaway exchange!

My travel plans: 🌍
I love, love, the sea and would like to live there one day. 🌊 So I would love to go somewhere where a beach is nearby, but I don't have any concrete plans yet where exactly I wanna go, so I’m pretty open :)

As I mentioned above, I would like to provide my creative skills, such as digital art/design, painting, i would also love to do a wall mural or some decorations.
Because i love to cook and bake i could also show you some of my favorite recipes!
I would also like to do something with children or animals.

Vom Workawayer () für Host (Learn new skills and ...)

The only word: wonderful!!!!
I had such an incredible time at Angelikas house and this time is always gonna be in my heart!

I just started traveling and was very overwhelmed and Angelika kindly took me in and was very understanding of my situation and all of my needs in order for me to feel save to enter a new experience like this. She was so… read more respectful and understanding and gave me a lot of space and time to settle into their daily life.

~Experience
I absolutely loved the trust and relationship we built over time and how Angelika was always making me feel like home. I felt very trusted and part of the team, when she was asking me about my opinion about new workawayers and she would always consider if I would also feel comfortable with. I also felt very honored that she trusted me enough to stay at her place and care for her cat Luna, when she was away for a weekend. That’s a good time to mention sweet Luna, which also made my stay even better. If you like cats, she is going to be a very good furry friend during your stay 🐱❤️

Because I am a very creative person and stayed for such a long time I was really “craving” some creative projects in my free time and I was free to express myself in every way I wanted and she did her best to provide me the materials and help me. I am very thankful for that!

~Food and Accommodation
I stayed in two different rooms during my stay and I loved both! Felt very cozy and comfortable.
I was very free to experiment in the kitchen and we had a lot of interesting cakes and dishes :)
In the beginning it was a bit challenging for me, because we had a bit different eating habits, but over the time we kind of discovered which similarities we had, according to food, and then we had so many good dishes and nice talks! It’s all about communication I would say :)

~Work
In the beginning we were discussing all the tasks that I could potentially do and we made a list ( I can highly recommend :)!) And then I was pretty free to organize my day. Usually I was always working in the morning and a bit after lunchtime, but Angelika was pretty open if I had some upcoming personal things and therefore wanted to change my working hours.
The work was mostly renovation stuff, painting, selling old stuff and we would always find other tasks. I also did some design work for her Association and I really enjoyed this! Overall I really loved how Angelika was really trying to find task that I enjoyed and that I was free to express if I didn’t like a task she gave me- thank you ;)

The team, consisting permanently out of her and her coworker, and sometimes other workawayers, was so nice to work with! I loved our morning meetings and also enjoyed working with her coworker, which is a very nice person! Angelika put great effort into giving us a lot of input about the topic communication and I learned a lot of new things.
As Alaa already mentioned, i was very glad to meet other Workawayers during my stay and she is such a nice person and I missed her so much after she left. We had a great time together and she thought me so many interesting things. Thank you :)

My advice for everyone that is thinking about doing a Workaway would always be: Communication. Just communicate your needs and expectations beforehand and also during the stay and I think everyone will have a good experience. :)

Overall I can just say that I am so thankful for my time in Ludolfshausen. For all the nice experiences, the people I have met, the food, the nature around the house and of course about you Angelika! You have became a wonderful friend and I loved our time together!
