Hi! New to workaway but an experienced traveller and volunteer :)
Growing up internationally has gifted me a love for cultural exchange and I've joined workaway in part because I love to engage with a location, volunteer and learn, more than just visiting in a quick touristic weekend trip.

I'm particularly interested in exchanges that involve a focus on sustainable living and would love to meet more people with similar values. At home I enjoy experimenting with projects from making my own apple cider vinegar to repairing/making my own clothes. For me, this is a way of challenging the ideas of fast-pace consumerism and trying to gain more awareness of the natural world and where things come from. My professional background is in research for human rights NGOs and digital investigations, and I'm looking forward to learning more about sustainability, plants, community-building, etc!

I like reading, live music, hiking, gardening, conversations that include lots of laughter and don't have to hide the tears.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I'm a practical, hands-on person – I make and fix a lot of things myself, and I am good at detailed crafts. I also do a lot of gardening; I am not an expert, but if I don't know how to do something, I like to learn and take initiative.

My skills also include photography, and I have professional experience in a range of areas including human rights investigations, translation and editing, teaching, and historical research.

I normally eat a meat-reduced diet, and am open to eating vegetarian/vegan for the duration of a stay if that is a key component of a host's priorities.
