Hello future host!

My name is Robert. I am a school teacher from Melbourne, Australia.

During 2024 I will be taking a year off to travel and get to know the country where my parents come from - Italy. I have been improving my Italian for 2 years to prepare for this trip. I am so excited to learn about the culture & explore every corner of Italy (and other countries too if the opportunity arises). I also hope to make lots of friends on my travels - I would love to show them my home country of Australia in the future.

I have a wide variety of experiences to offer, having worked in a variety of fields, including high finance, accounting and of course teaching. I have multiple degrees and am qualified to teach English, Mathematics, History, Accounting, Economics and Legal Studies. I also worked extensively on building my own home and garden and love getting my hands dirty and working outdoors. I enjoy physical activity and keeping fit and will thrive if you need a hard worker. I am a very friendly person who loves to have fun & make connections with people, but I will always get my work done to a high standard.

If the tasks you give me are new to me - it's okay, I love learning new things and will put 100% of my effort into becoming an expert at it. I am always open to feedback regarding how I can improve.

Hi! My name is Ling and I’m excited to be a part of Workaway. Though I call Australia home, I spent part of my childhood in Portugal and have travelled extensively with my family over the last 20 years.

My most memorable and happiest experience from my travels to Europe, USA, Peru, Chile, Bolivia and South East Asia was the home stay with a family of three in Peru along the Amazon River. We helped the family with dinner preparation and then shared wonderful meals together over candlelight and later slept in a small cabin.

I’m a devoted mother of two adult children who are both very accomplished and studying medicine and physiotherapy. I bring over 10 years of experience as a dance and fitness instructor and I would love to share my passion in dance, fitness, cooking and nutrition with other people.

I am a hard worker who is also willing to try and learn new experiences. I'm currently teaching myself Italian and would love to expand my conversational Italian with my future hosts.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I (Robert) am an experienced secondary Teacher who has taught a wide variety of subjects including Mathematics, History, Economics, Business, Accounting, Politics, Legal Studies and English. As an accomplished teacher, I have a deep love of learning and love to think about and discuss complex ideas. My multiple degrees cover the disciplines above and I enjoy teaching and sharing my knowledge and interests with others.

Having trained for many years in Martial Arts and strictly adhering to a plant based diet for close to ten years, I am dedicated to maintaining good health and partaking in an active lifestyle.

I (Ling), also tertiary educated with subjects in Sociology and Legal Studies, am passionate about dance and fitness. I successfully ran a dance/fitness tuition business for 10 years and taught a wide range of people from primary school-aged children, teachers, the elderly and many women looking to transform their outlook on health and fitness.

Working in the education sector for many years I acted as First Aid Officer in primary schools, gaining experience in the management of young children. I also follow a strict plant-based diet, and enjoy cooking delicious healthy meals. As a former martial arts practitioner, I continue to enjoy an active lifestyle maintaining a regular exercise regimen.

We have excellent work ethics and are willing to work hard to help you out. Both physically strong and fit, we aim to immerse ourselves fully in our experiences with our hosts.

We are being keen to share our skills and knowledge and hope to acquire many new skills and friends and experiences along the way in 2024.
