Last summer I travelled to Uganda to help build a playground for a school and to run creative play sessions with the school children and I fell in love with travelling. I enjoyed living within the local community and experiencing their culture instead of just visiting tourist traps. I'm new to workaway but I am excited at the opportunity to continue immersing myself in different cultures and communities, meeting new people and learning new skills.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have worked in tourism and at a library for the past two years where I deliver history talks and run craft groups and lego sessions for adults and children. Therefore, I'm experienced in working with people of ages in different situations. In September I will be starting teacher training to become an English teacher for ages 11-18 and I am happy to share my knowledge of the English language and my passion for literature. I also enjoy a good project such as turning my overgrown backyard into a a successful garden full of flowers, carrots and tomatoes or knitting a new cardigan. When I visit my parents house in Whitby I help to look after my Labrador, Ripple, and I take my elderly Grandma out for walks and a catch up over a cup of tea. I am always passionate about trying new things and would love to learn some new skills while meeting new people.

Was noch ...

In my spare time I love to go for long walks or runs to explore new places and meet as many dogs and cats along the way as possible. I also attend a weekly contemporary dance class and have recently started Muay Thai. In the evenings I enjoy playing games with my friends and family such as articulate and card games and to knit or crochet (my most recent crochet craze has been making tiny food and drink). I love trying new things and learning new hobbies.
