Beschreibung

Hello, my name is Ole, I’m 27 years old, and I’m looking for opportunities to volunteer during my time in Chile. I’d love to meet new people, experience different ways of living, and gain inspiration from a variety of life paths and projects.

In recent years, I've taken on a range of volunteering roles and jobs, and I’m very flexible about the type of work I can do. A few years ago, I started a community gardening project with some friends, where we built a lot of things like composting toilets, a bar, and more. We did our best to grow vegetables and hosted some great community events. Now, I share a smaller garden with friends near my home, where we’ve built a greenhouse, a herb spiral, and try to follow some permaculture principles.

I’m also involved with a climbing community that manages a small climbing wall in a school gym and organizes trips. Our goal is to make climbing accessible on a non-profit basis, especially for those who might not otherwise afford it. I earned my sport climbing trainer license last year and have been helping with gym operations, route setting, running courses, and joining trips.

Beyond that, I love cooking and spending time outdoors. During my stay, I’d love to explore Chile’s stunning landscapes, climb some rocks, and hopefully pick up some Spanish.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I've picked up a few skills along the way with my gardening projects. I've learned how to grow and care for fruit and vegetables, as well as other tasks in the garden (like pruning) and how to carry out smaller construction projects, such as building compost toilets, greenhouses or herb spirals. I'm not an expert in any of these activities and always have to improvise to a certain extent. I believe it's important to develop and implement construction projects together with other people, and to recycle existing materials wherever possible.

I'm used to helping with all kinds of renovation work, as my parents have always renovated and rebuilt their house themselves over the years. For example I have helped with sanding down old doors, painting walls or insulating the roof.

I'm also familiar with all the daily chores around the house. I usually enjoy cleaning (especially windows) and I'm a good cook.
