Hello there!

I'm a twenty 26-year old newbie on this platform, really happy to finally make it.
Few words about myself: I love books and read a lot, as well I'm interested in art and music,I love the sound of a new language or the taste of a good meal. To travel means the biggest possible freedom for me, I made use of that privilege as often as I could, the last years. People and their stories bring me joy, I look forward to meet new souls, sharing personal history, dreams and ideas.
Also I'm happy to learn about different lifestyles and places and become familiar with the linked skills, I'm an open-minded, very conscientious and fast learning.

I'm working in healthcare in Germany, first I trained to become a pediatric nurse and started studying medicine afterwards, I just finished my second year.
Right now I needed a break from that really demanding period of time, and so I decided to take a little 'time-off', to broaden my horizons. And therefore to offer my help in very different environments for example:)

Was könntest du arbeiten?
As I worked in healthcare the last 6 years, I sometimes feel very one-dimensional when it comes down to tasks in manual work, a fact I look forward to work on.
However I claim to be very emphatic, diligent and attentive. I can work hard and persistent.
I also bring some experience in renovating and painting, I like to cook, cleaning is a matter of course for me, I also did some basic gardening in the past, like weeding, planting for e.g.
If you're willing to give me quick instructions, I'm sure I can manage nearly any given tasks to your satisfaction- at least you can be sure I will always try my best and do not spare any effort or physical demanding work;)
Through my job as a nurse for children as well as through the patchwork-family I used to grow up in, I'm used to the interaction with children of all ages, to be with these pure and curious human beings is most natural for me, I enjoy their honesty and uniqueness.

Vom Workawayer () für Host (Enjoy gardening in a ...)

My workaway experience with Lorenzo was absolutely amazing from the very first moment on!
Communication worked out excellently even before my arrival, Lorenzo responded to all messages very quickly and in a kind and attentive way, he always shared important information and tips as well.
Lorenzo not only welcomed me as his guest and looked after… read more me; he invited me to be part of his lifestyle and really become familiar with the place and its peculiarities, what I appreciate a lot.
It has always been a pleasure to spend time in his company, regardless of whether it was about planning the work or doing it, about sharing meals, good music or some stories and thoughts along with a glass of wine in the evening.
Lorenzo can tell many stories, he is very passionate and full of life, is interested in all kinds of topics and it is great fun to exchange ideas with him and benefit from his experience.
In Lorenzo you will find an open-minded, generous, friendly and very empathetic host who always tries to put himself in the other person's position, seeking out for dialogue and a common level to interact with eachother.
He deeply respects the personal needs and the space his guests need, his open-minded and warm nature makes it easy to feel comfortable and at home.
The old house with the 1.1 hectares of property (including many olive trees that are hundreds of years old, what is really rare in that area) is his dream coming true. Lorenzo is full of visions and ideas about how to shape and improve the place and offers the workawayer the possibility to not only help him realize them, but to be an actual part of the process.
The work was varied and ranged from weeding to creating new paths in the wild garden, pruning trees and bushes, minor repair work and even landscaping. Lorenzo offered me complete autonomy in choosing the tasks, I was also able to contribute my own ideas and we brainstormed together. From the very beginning, Lorenzo's curiosity, imagination and passion for the place infected and motivated me. I was very happy to see the progress and changes we had made together every day.
Lorenzo's small farm in Gavorrano, a very beautiful, small, old town, is located away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enchants you with its silence, as well as the chirping of birds and of course: the breathtaking view of the mountains and sea I never could get enough of.
The after-work sunsets are rewarding!

I was really lucky and feel extremely grateful to have been Lorenzos guest.
I can only recommend this experience to everyone!

I am very happy with this Workaway experience with Norma, because she is a very intelligent and willing girl, and a tireless worker full of energy, with a lot of desire to do, to have fun together, to spend a happy time together, to collaborate, to learn: basically it was a very positive experience and I recommend this German girl to anyone who… read more wants to find a person full of drive and good will, and above all a desire to learn!
Norma wrote to me a few weeks before coming to me, and together we found the best time for both of us: it was very nice working together, and I am really very satisfied! I appreciated many things about her: first of all, her flexibility with regard to the Workaway period, in the sense that she was very happy to adapt to my needs and also to date changes, and I really appreciated that. Then I honestly noticed that she had come to me to do Workaway more out of a desire to learn new things, to do outdoor activities and to learn, rather than to take a free holiday, as unfortunately can sometimes happen. In Norma, on the other hand, I noticed a great desire to work, to tidy up the garden, to garden, to use her hands and energy, to learn from me, who is quite a bit older than her and more experienced in farm life.
So I'm very happy, from the first day she came we got along very well, we listened to a lot of music together and had a good time, until the day we went to Florence together, and we said goodbye, although we kept in touch and that makes me very happy!
So the workaway experience with Norma was absolutely great, and I recommend this German girl for whatever help is needed on a farm.
Specifically, Norma helped me arrange the branches after the olive trees had been pruned, which was a long job but one that we did together in a fun way. She is certainly a very intelligent girl, and even though she is young she certainly learns fast: she is very respectful, and it is interesting to talk to her, because despite her young age she is very cultured, loves good music, and above all loves reading lots of books, like me.
I certainly recommend Norma, because she is very good and diligent at doing even demanding jobs, especially in the garden, like cutting the biggest branches with shears and helping me to put them in the bio-shredder, to make compost.
We actually had a lot of fun shredding the branches with the bio-shredder, because the work was quick so we could get on with it faster, and above all we saw great progress every day, being able to watch the work being done to our satisfaction, at the best of times.
We also created a new path, and Norma helped me cover it with gravel, so working with two people was very quick and we also had fun!
Certainly, for what it's worth, the impression I had of Norma during the days she did workaway at my farm, was that she is an extremely talented and very determined person, and a great help with the gardening work.
In addition to this, she is a very curious and bright person, a quick learner and interested in history, so it is nice to share time together, because in addition to being a good listener, and very open-minded, she is also interested in learning, and we had fun together after having done the workaway hours: and actually the workaway experience with Norma was the best gift I could have received at this time!
Without a doubt she is a very smart and curious girl who learns things very quickly and has a lot of goodwill. Seeing her positive spirit that remained steadfast in the joy of the experience in Italy, filled my heart with joy. From day one we started working together, I was gardening and Norma was helping me a lot by cutting all the branches that had fallen to the ground after the pruning of the last few months, and sorting them into groups of small branches and large branches, so as to give the surroundings a pleasant and tidy appearance, in total harmony with nature, but without too many branches on the ground to trample on! From the second day onwards, along with the work, a deep friendship was born, which led us to talk for many hours, and to share some certainly important moments. I never expected that a girl of such a young age could have such a clear and mature outlook on the world, and I really liked that. From the third day onwards, I even saw that Norma was beginning to settle in perfectly, and she was able to perform each task to the best of her ability, without me having to explain anything to her, which is exactly what I look for in a workawayer. Every day she was very good at cutting all the branches, despite being a young girl, she is very strong and took the activity in the garden as a fun form of gymnastics, which also filled me with joy. Apart from that, from the fourth day onwards she also helped me remove all the branches from the path, and then went on to divide the branches, and cut the big branches so that they were ready to be burnt in the autumn: an excellent job indeed. So we established a very pleasant routine, which involved working in the morning and until afternoon, and then at the end of the afternoon relax and take advantage of the beauty of these places even in the cooler hours.
Norma truly has a deep and infinitely kind soul, and is a special person: but to tell you the truth, the thing I appreciated most about the young but great Norma, besides her sunny spirit and her smile that radiates a contagious happiness, is the fact that she has a great talent and an infinite passion, and I really liked that.
Also Norma is very smart and very active, and I could continue to praise the qualities of this girl from Germany for a long time, but sincerely my greatest wish is that in the next few months she can return here, not only to see the further developments that have been made on the farm, but to continue to take part of this process of improvement and maintenance of wild nature, because she truly is a person who has fit perfectly into this place, loving and respecting it beyond all my expectations, and this has filled me with happiness that I will never forget!
So Norma, thank you again for all your work, and for all the love you have left on this farm, surrounded by nature: the trees, the flowers, the stones, even the cat "Stellina" and turtles that keep us company here, are grateful to you, and they await you with joy, and I am grateful to you more than anyone.
