Hi There!
My name is Natalie and I was born and raised in Canada. I have always loved sports and played a multitude growing up - soccer, basketball, volleyball, and badminton. My soccer addiction led me to the US on scholarship. I graduated school with an Accounting degree and have worked in New York City and San Francisco in finance. As much as I have appreciated the opportunities and amazing experiences I've had by living and working in the US, i experienced intense burn out.
The beginning of 2023 I quit my job and began traveling. I was more interested in a cultural experience and learning how to "slow down" after being in the rat race for so long! I started bike touring and completed a trip from Santiago Chile to Ushuaia (~2500km) and also traveled from Hamburg, Germany to Bergen Norway (~1500km). I have also spent the last few months volunteering in Poland for Ukrainian refugees and in Maui to rebuild the community displaced from wild fires. I would love to continue my travels and learn from the beautiful communities I inhabit. I feel fortunate to have seen so many places, but the best memories come from the interactions I have with the locals and conversations over dinner.
I have a mother with early- onset dementia and have been the primary caregiver for her for 1.5 years. I also am a beloved Aunt to my nephew, Luka - who I have been a instrumental part of his life. Watching him grow has been my greatest gift! Otherwise, I enjoy reading at cafes, board game nights, bike rides and hikes!

Was könntest du arbeiten?
I have my Bachelor's and Master's degree in Accounting. I have worked in Public Accounting and start-ups. Always happy to chat about finance, financial statements, fund-raising, etc.
Other that formal education, I would say I have the following skills:
- Outdoors / sports - played soccer in the US on a scholarship. Incredibly outdoorsy and have completed bike touring (without guide) and backcountry camping.
- Construction - Spent 3 weeks in Poland building a community center for Ukrainian refugees. This meant using power tools and assisting new volunteers weekly.
- Babysitting - I have babysat a multitude of children - from 3 months to 12. I used to lead a soccer camp in High School.
I'm not sure if this counts as a "skill" but I am a hard-worker and learn quickly. Overall, I believe I can assist in many situations if given instructions. I am also very patient (I have 3 siblings!), empathetic and grateful for any opportunity.
