Beschreibung

Hi, my name is Myriam, I'm 27 years old and I'm from the Netherlands. I studied MSc Animal sciences at Wageningen university, where I finished my degree in animal ecology and in biodiversity in 2020. Due to Covid-19 I couldn't finish my last internship at the educational office of a zoo, but luckily I was able to graduate without it. Graduating in a pandemic time, makes it difficult to find a job within my workfield. Therefore, in the meantime I worked for a healthcare company at the administration desk and at the telephone service. Luckily the pandemic is slowing down, and things start to open-up again, so now after being fully vaccinated and boostered, I want to travel and gain more experience in work with all different kinds of animals. I absolutely love animals!

For my ecology degree I researched the breeding behaviour of crested guinea fowl in South Africa, and I did an internship on coral reef restoration in Kenya. On my way traveling through southern Africa I met a lot of backpackers that worked via Workaway that have had amazing experiences, which inspired me to try as well.

Next to animals, I love all nature, traveling, good conversations and children. I am enthusiastic, loving, social, calm and open-minded. Helping people is in my nature, as well as swimming, diving, watching animals, working with animals, reading, learning and teaching. During the weekends in my hometown (Utrecht) I voluntarily teach people with a mental disability swimming, for over ten years already . Time flies having fun!

I’m a quiet girl that doesn’t smoke, has a driver’s licence and loves learning, discovering and investigating new cultures, countries and languages.

I got my rescue divers licence. I have over ten years of experience with baby sitting and working with mentally disabled people, I have some experience working with animals and I am clever with computers . I don't have specific skills when it comes to building or gardening, but I'm a quick learner, I'm responsible and I am physically fit.
